| This thesis analyzes the meaning of the term "Xiao Xue" and concludes that Zhu Xi’s term "Xiao Xue" has four meanings:the school,the content taught in the school,the book of Xiao Xue,and the effort of the Xiao Xue.Then this thesis studies the writing process and chapter structure of Xiao Xue.The book of Xiao Xue takes li-jiao,ming-lun,and jing-shen as three creeds.Its nine items include understanding the relationship between father and son,the righteousness of monarch and minister,the distinction between husband and wife,the preface of elders and children,the friendship of friends,the essentials of mind,the rules of impressive and dignified manner,the system of clothes,and the control of diet,which is collectively referred as "Sangang Jiumu".This thesis also analyzes the theoretical basis of Zhu Xi’s thought of Xiao Xue from the perspective of the theory of li-qi and the theory of the heart-mind and human nature which provides a interpretation for the li-jiao,ming-lun,jing-shen,and also a theoretical support for the necessity of the effort of Xiao Xue.Then this thesis focuses on the analysis of the theme of the book Xiao Xue from three directions of li-jiao,ming-lun,and jing-shen,which draws the conclusion:lijiao leads the whole article,and ming-lun is the ultimate goal,and more importantly jing-shen is the effort of Xiao Xue’s starting point.In the respective of the relationship between Xiao Xue and Da Xue,the effort of the Xiao Xue is the basis of the effort of the Da Xue.Finally,starting with the analysis of the educational situation of children in Song Dynasty,this thesis summarizes and analyzes Zhu Xi’s children educational thoughts. |
