This article is mainly based on the existing Qiaofang archives of Tianmen Archives Bureau,in conjunction with field investigations and oral interviews,to discuss the Custodians of the Overseas Chinese House and the order on the custody of the Overseas Chinese House in Tianmen, and to investigate the problems of Overseas Chinese House and the implementation of Overseas Chinese House policies in different historical periods after the founding of the People’s Republic of China Implementation, reveal the game between the traditional mechanism, overseas factors and policy level. As early as the late Qing Dynasty, there were villagers going abroad in Tianmen,Hubei.Since the beginning of the 20th century, the scale of Tianmen’s overseas immigration has been increasing, and Tianmen overseas Chinese house has also formed.Unlike the large number of overseas Chinese homes purchased by overseas Chinese remittances in Fujian and Guangdong overseas Chinese hometowns, most of the Tianmen overseas Chinese houses are the ancestors of inheritance.Judging from the records, after most Tianmen people go abroad, there are two ways for the nominal overseas Chinese custodians:one is the overseas Chinese custodians within the family;the other is the entrusted agent.Overall, although the escrow activities of the overseas Chinese residence in this period will be interfered by the rural social forces represented by the clan, most of the overseas Chinese residences still have clear escrow management, and the escrow order is relatively stable. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, especially after the land reform, grassroots organizations with social organizations and teams as the main body emerged, challenging the role of traditional families, and stepping up the intervention of the custody of overseas Chinese house. This caused the original relatively stable escrow order of the overseas Chinese housing to be impacted, and the problem of overseas Chinese housing also occurred. In general, the problems of overseas Chinese housing after the founding of the People’s Republic of China were mainly caused by the political movements, which were:the misidentification of the identity of the overseas Chinese during the period of land reform, the disorder of the overseas Chinese during the communalization period, the overseas Chinese during the period of private housing The housing errors and the relocation of overseas Chinese houses during the Cultural Revolution were collectively requisitioned and taken privately, and the class identity formed by the land reform often became an important factor influencing the problems of overseas Chinese houses during the collectivization era.Since the reform and opening up,under the general background of the implementation of the policy of overseas Chinese house, the problem of Tianmen overseas Chinese house has been solved mainly by means of "returning housing" and"economic compensation".At the same time, there is a group of relocated overseas Chinese houses that deserve attention. The treatment of these overseas Chinese houses is the same as the "return to the house",which brings the house custody right back to the overseas Chinese house custodian and its descendants. The Qiaofang is a problem left over by history from the immigration of Tianmen in modern times. In the various policy transformations after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the local traditional forces and the factors of overseas Chinese, the orientation and implementation of different policies have greatly affected the storage and use of overseas Chinese houses. An in-depth study of the form of overseas Chinese immigrants from the Mainland will not only help to understand the historical changes in local society since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, especially in the era of land reform and collectivization, but also help to show the interrelationships between different forces within rural society. |
