Research Of Folk Belief Of She People In Guanshe Village Of Hua’an

"Ping an qing jiao" is also called by She people as "zuo jiao","bao ping an" or"ping an jiao".It is an annual praying ritual in Guanshe village,Hua’an County,Fujian Province.Its main purpose is not only to return vows and thank god,but also to pray for future peace and crop harvest.This paper is based on the perspective of sacred and secular,taking the ritual of "ping an qing jiao" as the research theme,using literature analysis,in-depth interviews and participation in observation,to record the process of"ping an qing jiao" completely,try to understand the cultural structure in the practice of She people’s daily belief,and hope to reveal the two meanings of sacred and secular through the ceremony of "ping an qing jiao",and reveal the dual relationship between the folk religious belief of She people and the secular life of the village.This paper is divided into four parts to explore the theme of the research.The first part summarizes the regional environment and social tradition of "ping an qing jiao"ritual,and analyzes the spatio-temporal background factors of the formation of the religious belief of the she people in Guanshe village.The second part goes into the religious belief and witchcraft ritual of the she people in Guanshe village to understand the belief system and cultural logic behind the "ping an qing jiao".In the third part,combined with field investigation and interview data,this paper elaborates on the "ping an qing jiao" ritual of she people in Guanshe village of Hua’an county from three aspects:organization preparation,venue arrangement and performance process.The fourth part discusses the sacred and secular connotations in the ritual of "ping an qing jiao" of she people,and explains the internal connection between the religious belief space of she people and the secular life space of the village.In a word,the She believers in Guanshe village of Hua’an county have created the hierarchy system of sacred belief with Bishan palace as the core and the living field of settling heaven,earth,god and people through the multi-god belief system and witchcraft ritual practice.According to the common living wishes and cultural values of the ethnic groups,the She people create the daily life space of the village in order to settle down and reproduce the offspring.Through the annual "ping an qing jiao" ritual,they arrange and place various sacred symbols,clearly mark the scope of the village,and then transform the secular village space into a sacred space for people and gods to coexist.
