Objective: To explore the relationship between serum medium-long-chain fatty acid subclasses, independent fatty acid components, fatty acid-related enzyme activity and healthy aging in middle-aged and elderly people in community, and provide scientific evidence for promoting the health of the aged population by controlling the serum fatty acid level reasonably. Methods: This study was based on the cross-sectional study of Hubei community. All subjects are middle-aged and elderly people who collected community questionnaires and physical examination in Hubei province from March 2021 to December 2021.The basic information and life style of the subjects were collected in the form of face-to-face interviews, and the healthy aging degree of the middle-aged and elderly population in the community was evaluated based on the Bio-Psycho-Social(Bio-Psycho-Social,BPS)model.Serum fatty acid concentration was accurately quantitatively analyzed by gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry,GC-MS),and the product-substrate ratio method was used to evaluate the activity of fatty acid-related metabolic enzymes. All statistical analyses were conducted using the survey modules of SAS software version 9.4,multifactor Logistic regression model and restricted cubic spline method were used to explore the relationship between serum long-chain fatty acid content, fatty acid metabolismrelated enzyme activity and healthy aging in middle-aged and elderly people. Results: A total of 609 subjects were included in this study, with an average age of61.38 ±6.98 years,of which 251 met the evaluation criteria of healthy aging, and the rate of healthy aging was 41.42%.There are significant differences in social demography(age, sex, education),lifestyle(sleep quality)and body mass index between healthy aging and unrealized healthy aging.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that:(1)Among Saturated Fatty Acids(SFAs),compared with the lowest quartile(T1)of fatty acid level, the risk of unhealthy aging in the highest quartile(T3)of total SFAs even-carbon SFAs,C14:0,C15:0 and C16:0 was significantly higher. The multivariate adjusted OR(95%CI)were 1.55(1.01,2.37),1.55(1.01,2.37),1.76(1.15,2.69).1.91(1.25,2.91)and 1.65(1.07,2.52).Compared with T1 group, there was a significant negative correlation between C24:0 T3 group and the risk of unhealthy aging,OR(95%CI)was 0.62(0.41,0.96).There was no significant correlation between the remaining saturated fatty acids and the risk of unhealthy aging.,(2)Among Monounsaturated Fatty Acids(MUFAs),taking T1 group as control group, the risk of unhealthy aging was significantly increased in T3 group of C16:0 and the OR(95%CI)was 1.76(1.15,2.71)after multivariate adjustment. There was no significant difference between other independent MUFAs and healthy aging.(3)Among Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids(PUFAs),there was a significant positive correlation between the risk of unrealized healthy aging and the risk of unhealthy aging. The OR(95%CI)of T1 and T2 groups after adjustment were 1.70(1.11,2.60),1.98(1.29,3.04),1.61(1.06,2.45),2.07(1.34,3.19),respectively.There was no significant difference between other independent PUFAs and healthy aging.(4)In the enzyme activity of fatty acid metabolism, compared with T1,the multivariate adjusted OR(95%CI)of △9-16 desaturase T3 group,△6 desaturase T2,T3 group and unhealthy aging risk group were 1.66(1.08,2.55),1.73(1.13,2.65)and1.54(1.01,2.34),respectively.Conclusions: The results indicated that higher concentrations of total SFAs,C16:0,C16:1,C18:3n-6,C20:3n-6,△6 desaturase, and △9-16 desaturase were risk factors for healthy aging, while moderate concentration of C24:0 was a protective factor for healthy aging. Therefore, controlling blood SFAs,n-6PUFAs levels and partial desaturase activity in a low suitable range may be beneficial to the realization of healthy aging.
