| Objective:To explore the effect of dapagliflozin combined with metformin on muscle content in overweight and obese patients with type 2 diabetes.Methods:A total of 47 overweight and obese type 2 diabetes patients treated in the Outpatient Department of Endocrinology of Laoshan Hospital of Qingdao University from July 2021 to February,2023 were collected.31 of them were randomly selected to form the observation group,and the remaining 16 cases were the control group.Metformin was given 1.5 g to 2.0 g daily,administered orally at or after the meal for treatmentof the control group.And in the observation group,10 mg dagliflozin was added orally daily morning to the treatment regimen of the control group.On the basis of drug treatment to the two groups of diabetes education and give diet,exercise guidance,compare the two groups of patients before enrollment,three months after treatment,six months after treatment observation index [fasting blood glucose(FBG),body weight,glycated hemoglobin(Hb A1c),waist circumference,body mass index(BMI),waist to hip ratio,body Percentage,body fat content,body fat content,visceral fat index(VFI),muscle content].Results:(1)FBG and HBA1 c in the observation group were significantly lower after three months and six months(P<0.01);FBG and Hb A1 c in the control group decreased significantly after three months(P <0.05),and the decrease after six months of treatment than before enrollment was not significant(P> 0.05);Although the reduction of blood glucose in the three months of treatment and six months of treatment did not reach a significant difference from the control group(P> 0.05),the hypoglycemic level in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group.(2)Body weight,BMI,waist circumference and waist to hip ratio were significantly lower in the three months and six months of treatment(P <0.01);the decrease in body weight,BMI,waist circumference and waist-hip ratio between the observed and control groups was not significant(P > 0.05).(3)Body fat content,percent body fat,and VFI in the observation and control groups were significantly lower at three months and six months before treatment(P <0.05);there was no significant difference in lower body fat content,body fat percentage,and visceral fat between the observation and control groups(P> 0.05).(4)The decrease in muscle content in the observation group was not significant(P>0.05)at three months of treatment,but a significant decrease at six months of treatment compared to before enrollment(P <0.05).The muscle content in the control group did not reach significant differences after three months and after six months compared with before enrollment(P> 0.05).Conclusion:Dapagliflozin combined metformin treatment can effectively reduce blood glucose levels of overweight and obesity type 2 diabetes patients,and hypoglycemic effect is significantly better than single metformin treatment,in addition,also can effectively reduce the overweight and obesity type 2 diabetes weight,body fat,but long-term use may lead to patients reduced trend of muscle content,serious may even lead to or accelerate the occurrence of sarcopenia in patients with diabetes. |
