Objective: To observe the effect of water therapy on the improvement of muscle strength and motor function in children with spastic cerebral palsy(CP),a new rehabilitation method was used to treat CP.Methods: The subjects were selected from children with cerebral palsy admitted to Shiyan People’s Hospital from July 2019 to July 2021.A total of100 children with spastic cerebral palsy(50 male and 50 female)were 2021,the patients were divided into experimental group(N=50)and control group(N=25)by simple random table. The control group was given routine exercise training twice, the treatment group was given routine exercise training therapy once and hydrotherapy once for 3 courses. The gross motor function score, fine motor function score, and mean tibialis anterior muscle and quadriceps femoris muscle surface electromyography scores were measured and compared before and after intervention in both groups,to observe the effect of hydrotherapy on muscle strength and motor function in children with spastic cerebral palsy. Results: 1.The mean EMG values of rectus femoris and tibialis anterior muscle were(34.6±7.5)μv and(25.5±9.6)μv before treatment,and(45.7±12.8)μv and(36.9 ±13.4)μv after treatment, respectively, the results showed that the scores of the experimental group were significantly different before and after treatment(p < 0.05).2.The scores of gross and fine motor function were(155.5 ± 17.6)μv,(92.7.6.5)μv before treatment and(186.9 ± 18.4)μv,(103.0 ± 7.8)μv after treatment in the experimental group, respectively, the results showed that the scores of the experimental group had significant difference before and after treatment(p < 0.05),while those of the control group had no significant difference before and after treatment(P > 0.05).The difference of surface electromyography parameters of rectus femoris and tibialis anterior muscles before and after treatment in the experimental group was(18.5± 9.6)μv and(16.9 ± 13.4)μv,respectively,and that in the control group was(11.2±9.8)μv and(10.7±4.5)μv,and has the statistics difference(p < 0.05);4.The differences of gross and fine motor before and after treatment were(24.5± 8.9)and(14.9± 5.3)respectively in the experimental group,and(16.2±9.8)and(8.7±4.2)respectively in the control group. Conclusion: Hydrotherapy had a better effect on improving the muscle strength of tibialis anterior and quadriceps femoris muscle muscles in children with spastic cerebral palsy than the conventional treatment Hydrotherapy has a good effect on improving gross motor function and fine motor function in children with spastic cerebral palsy.
