| Objective:To study the relationship between the levels of interleukin-8(IL-8)and monocyte chemoattractant factor-1(MCP-1)in aqueous humor of patients with retinal vein occlusion(RVO)and macular edema secondary to RVO.Method:55 RVO-ME patients(55 eyes)who were admitted to the ophthalmology department of Yijishan Hospital,the First Affiliated Hospital of Wannan Medical College from July 16,2021 to February 6,2023 and underwent anti VEGF treatment were selected as the experimental group.The experimental group was further divided into subgroups CRVO-ME and BRVO-ME,and the BRVO-ME group was further divided into three types,namely SRD,DRT,and CME.The control group consisted of15 patients(15 eyes)who underwent cataract surgery at our hospital during the same period.After collecting the patient’s aqueous humor,enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was used to detect the concentrations of IL-8 and MCP-1 in the aqueous humor.The central retinal thickness(CRT),best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),and subretinal fluid accumulation height(SRT)of the subjects were collected.Conduct data analysis according to different grouping criteria.Result:1.Comparison between control group and experimental group(1)The prevalence of hypertension in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group,but there was no significant difference in age,sex,intraocular pressure and eye type(P>0.05);(2)The levels of IL-8 and MCP-1 in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).2.Comparative analysis of IL-8 and MCP-1 levels in different types of RVO-ME(1)The difference of MCP-1 level between CRVO-ME and BRVO-ME was statistically significant(P=0.017),and the content in aqueous humor in CRVO-ME group was higher than that in BRVO-ME group.There was no statistically significant difference in IL-8 content between the two groups;(2)The difference between CRT baseline values of CRVO-ME and BRVO-ME was statistically significant(P=0.016).3.Correlation analysisCorrelation analysis within the BRVO-ME group:(1)There was a negative correlation between BCVA and CRT baseline;(2)The levels of MCP-1 and IL-8 were positively correlated with the baseline of CRT;4.Correlation analysis of ME recovery speed(1)In BRVO-ME,CRT baseline-1W/CRT baseline was positively correlated with CRT baseline and the content of MCP-1,but not with the content of IL-8;(2)There was no statistically significant difference between SRD,CME and DRT groups in the expression of IL-8 and MCP-1 in aqueous humor and CRT baseline-1W/CRT baseline.5.Correlation analysis of SRT,IL-8 and MCP-1 levels in SRD type BRCO-CME(1)SRT was positively correlated with IL-8 level;(2)There was no significant correlation between SRT and MCP-1 level.Conclusion:1.Inflammatory factors IL-8 and MCP-1 are involved in the occurrence and development of RVO-ME.The higher the content of MCP-1、IL-8,the greater the value of CRT,the more serious the degree of ME,and the worse the BCVA of patients;2.In BRVO-ME,the larger the baseline of CRT,the faster the recovery of macular edema after anti VEGF treatment;There was no difference in the levels of IL-8,MCP-1,and the recovery rate of macular edema after one week of anti VEGF treatment among the SRD,CME,and DRT groups;In SRD type,the higher the content of IL-8 in aqueous humor,the higher the SRT value. |
