| Objective: In this study,a cross-sectional survey was conducted to investigate the correlation between elevated serum Lp(a)level and different TCM syndrome elements and carotid artery plaque in randomly included patients. Methods: The patients were divided into normal serum Lp(a)group(n= 337),abnormal serum Lp(a)group(n=87),and the general data of the groups were compared, and the correlation between abnormal serum Lp(a)and the occurrence of carotid artery plaque was analyzed by Logistic regression. At the same time, according to the TCM syndromes and other indexes with grouping value, the patients were further divided into groups for comparison and correlation analysis. Results: 1.Among the included patients, the prevalence rate of patients with hyper LP(a)emia was 20.51%.2.Basic information: Among the included patients,87 patients had elevated serum Lp(a)level and 337 patients had normal serum Lp(a)level. After comparison between groups, there were statistically significant differences in age and serum low density lipoprotein level between the two groups.3.There was a statistically significant difference in the prevalence of carotid plaque between patients with elevated serum Lp(a)and normal patients.4.There is a correlation between the increase of serum Lp(a)level and the occurrence of carotid plaque. After stratified analysis, the serum Lp(a)level in patients older than 60 years is correlated with the occurrence of carotid plaque, while there is no correlation in patients younger than 60 years.Through the interaction analysis between the two factors of age and serum Lp(a)by constructing the interaction product term, there was no interaction between the two factors.5.There was a statistically significant difference in the distribution of syndromic elements of phlegm between patients with normal serum Lp(a)level and patients with abnormal serum LP(A)level. However, there was no statistically significant difference in serum Lp(a)level between patients with and without the syndrome elements of spleen disease position, while there was statistically significant difference in serum Lp(a)level between patients with and without the syndrome elements of phlegm disease.6.For patients with elevated serum Lp(a),the serum Lp(a)level in patients with phlegm turbid internal obstruction syndrome is higher than that in patients with other TCM syndrome elements, and has statistical significance. However, the age level of patients with TCM syndrome of phlegm turbidity and internal obstruction was higher than that of patients with other TCM syndroms in the group of patients with elevated serum Lp(a),with statistical significance. Conclusions: 1.Serum Lp(a)level was significantly correlated with the prevalence of carotid plaque.2.For patients with different TCM syndromes, serum Lp(a)level of patients with phlegm-stasis interjunction TCM syndromes was higher than that of patients with other TCM syndromes, showing statistical significance.3.There was a statistically significant difference in serum Lp(a)level between patients with sputum,a pathogenic syndrome element, and patients without sputum,a pathogenic syndrome element.4.Although there is a statistically significant difference between the serum Lp(a)level of patients with pathogenic syndrome elements phlegm and TCM syndrome of phlegm turbidity obstruction and patients without such syndrome elements,it is not possible to determine whether there is a correlation with the increase of serum Lp(a)level through the presence of such syndrome elements and TCM syndrome. |
