Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Pharyngeal Paraesthesia After Thyroid Cancer Surgery With Qi And Yin Deficiency Using Shamai Tang

Objective: By observing the improvement of clinical symptoms,pharyngeal foreign body sensation,changes in quality of life,and medication safety of Shamai Tang in the treatment of postoperative pharyngeal foreign body sensation in thyroid cancer patients with deficiency of both qi and yin,the clinical efficacy and safety of Shamai Tang were evaluated,providing new ideas for the treatment of postoperative pharyngeal foreign body sensation in thyroid cancer patients with traditional Chinese medicine.Methods: In this study,52 patients with pharyngeal foreign body sensation due to deficiency of both qi and yin after thyroid cancer surgery,were separated into Shamai Tang group and Zhishi Liyan group at random.The Shamai Tang group was treated with modified oral administration of traditional Chinese medicine Shamai Tang(twice a day,one dose a day),and Zhishi Liyan group was treated with Zhishi Liyan Mixture orally(twice a day,one bottle at a time)in the hospital.Both groups took 7 days as a course of treatment,and observed for 2 consecutive courses.The main efficacy indicators,including TCM syndrome score,The Foreign-Body Sensation in the Throat Score,Quality of Life score,Karnofsky Performance Status score,safety indicators and adverse reactions,were analyzed,summarized and compared,and finally a conclusion was reached.Results:1.Total score of TCM syndrome: the total score of TCM syndrome in Shamai Decoction group and Zhishi Liyan group decreased compared with that before the treatment,but the decrease of the patients in Shamai Decoction group was more significant than that in Zhishi Liyan group,with a value of(49)=0.000<0.05,that is,the effect of Shamai Decoction group was better.2.Effective rate: the effective rate of Shamai decoction group(83.33%)is higher than that of Zhishi Liyan group(62.5%),with a value of(49)=0.018<0.05,indicating that the clinical effect of Shamai decoction group is higher than that of Zhishi Liyan group.3.TCM symptom score: After the course of treatment,the Shamai Decoction group was better than the Zhishi Liyan group in terms of improving the sensation of foreign body in the throat,dry throat,itchy throat,sticky sputum,dry mouth and thirst,tiredness,fatigue,spontaneous sweating and night sweating,the value of(49)was less than 0.05,that is,the Shamai Decoction group was better,and the value of(49)was more than 0.05 in terms of pharyngalgia and dysphoria in chestpalms-soles,that is,the therapeutic effect was equivalent.4.FBST: The scores of pharyngeal foreign body sensation in Shamai Tang group and Zhishi Liyan group were lower than before,but the scores of pharyngeal foreign body sensation in Shamai Tang group were significantly lower,with a value of(49)=0.000<0.05,that is,the therapeutic effect of Shamai Tang group was better.5.QOL: The quality of Life score of the Shamai Decoction group and the Zhishi Liyan group were improved compared with the previous one,and the improvement effect of the Shamai Decoction group was more significant,with a value of(49)=0.000<0.05,that is,the Shamai Decoction group was better in improving the quality of life of patients.6.KPS: Although the KPS scores of Shamai Decoction group and Zhishi Liyan group were both improved,the effect of Shamai Decoction group and Zhishi Liyan group in terms of improving the physical strength of patients was(49)=0.116>0.05,that is,the effect was equivalent.7.Safety indicators: Before and after treatment,WBC,RBC,ALT,AST,etc.in Shamai Decoction group and Zhishi Liyan group were not significantly abnormal,and no adverse events were found,which proved that this test was safe.Conclusion: Through the research of this topic,Modified Shamai Tang can effectively improve the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores of patients with pharyngeal foreign body sensation after surgery for thyroid cancer with deficiency of both qi and yin,reduce the score of pharyngeal foreign body sensation,and improve the score of QOL and KPS.Moreover,the drug used has good safety and is worthy of further study.
