Objective: To evaluate the protective effect of 3% diquafosol tetrasodium eye drops on improving ocular surface injury in patients during cataract perioperative period. Methods: In this trial, patients who underwent cataract surgery at the hospital of the research institute were randomly assigned to the following groups: 3% diquafosol tetrasodium group,0.3% sodium hyaluronate group, blank control group.During the period of 1 month after the operation, the following procedures shall be carried out each day: 3% sodium dexamethasone eye drops were given,0.3% sodium hyaluronate eye drops were given, and no drugs to improve the ocular surface were given.Tear break-up time,SchirmerⅠtest, tear moniscus height,International Standard Ocular Surface Disease Index(OSDI)questionnaire and corneal fluorescein staining was measured 1 day before cataract surgery,1 week after cataract surgery and 1 month after cataract surgery. The corneal asymmetry index(Q)and corneal regularity index(e)were measured by corneal topography(OPD-Scan Ⅲ).Visit and collect data.Evaluate the protective effect of preventive use of 3% DQS eye drops on ocular surface injury during cataract surgery perioperative period. Results: At 1 week and month of preventive medication, there were significant differences in tear break-up time,SchirmerⅠtest, and tear moniscus height between the three groups(P<0.05),and the results of DQS group were greater than those of sodium hyaluronate group than those of the blank control group. At the 1 week and 1month of preventive medication, there was a statistically significant difference in the OSDI between the three groups(P<0.05).The scores of the sodium hyaluronate group and the DQS group were lower than those of the blank control group, but there was no statistically significant difference between these two groups(P>0.05).The results of corneal fluorescein staining between the three groups were not statistically significant in 1 week of treatment(P>0.05);1 month after the treatment, there was a statistical difference in the results of corneal fluorescein staining between the three groups(P<0.05).The scores of the sodium hyaluronate group and the DQS group were lower than those of the blank control group, but there was no statistical difference between these two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the results of corneal surface asymmetry index Q and corneal surface regularity index e(P>0.05).Conclusion: Preventive use of 3% DQS eye drops in patients during cataract perioperative period can improve tear break-up time, enhance tear film stability, relieve dry eye symptoms, and improve subjective feelings of patients. In this study,3%DQS eye drops showed the significant better results of tear break-up time,Schinner I test, and tear moniscus height than 0.3% sodium hyaluronate. The treatment is effective. It can be applied to the protection of ocular surface injury in patients with cataract during perioperative period...
