The popularization of virtual reality education technology has provided innovative development for users of radiotherapy(Radiation therapy,RT)training and education.The modern undergraduate education model of radiotherapy includes the interpretation of theories,technical concepts,and the acquisition of practical treatment and patient communication skills in the clinical environment.In order to break the limitations of the traditional teaching model.Explore the virtual simulation experiment training mode integrating user interest,theory,and practice in the information age.In this paper,aiming at the problems of radiation therapy equipment,medical electron linear accelerator equipment is large in size,expensive in price,high pressure and radiation risk,students generally can not get real practical operation,and fuzzy cognition of the functional details of equipment structure,abstract treatment principle and clinical process of radiation therapy,etc.An innovative virtual simulation teaching system(virtual environment for radiation therapy training,VERT)of radiation therapy instrument principle and clinical application was developed by Maya and Unity3D,which covered the functions of 3D display,principle analysis,experience interaction,and online assessment.The research work of this paper is as follows:(1)First,the research background and significance of the radiotherapy virtual simulation training system are described,and the research status at home and abroad is summarized.Three concepts of a virtual reality system are summarized,namely virtual interactive space,telepresence,and interactive entertainment.The theory of computer graphics based on binocular stereovision in virtual reality technology was analyzed,and the relevant theories of medical electron linear accelerator for radiotherapy were studied,such as the structure and working principle of medical electron linear accelerator,etc.,to provide a theoretical basis for the simulation of VERT system module function.(2)The VERT OBE(Outcome based education,OBE)of the virtual simulation teaching systems based on the teaching theory,the expected teaching result,starting from the results,the complete medical electron linear accelerator radiation therapy preliminary investigation n,the present situation,and problems of traditional training with VR training analysis results and the feasibility of the teaching system to complete feedback of the specialized courses of undergraduate research and demand statistics,According to the statistical results,the whole structure of virtual simulation teaching system is designed.The user needs of the system were determined,and the one-month field investigation of the clinical work of radiotherapy in the radiotherapy department of the hospital was complete,which provided a realistic basis for the simulation of the virtual practice training function of the VERT system.(3)Design VERT system framework and build system development flow chart.This paper introduces the method of Maya software to create a 3d model and shows the results of the 3D model.Combined with radiotherapy equipment structure,the theory principle and clinical fieldwork record information,based on user requirements and on-the-spot investigation content will be divided into registered login module system,experiment the overview module,mode selection module,display module,accelerate the system principle of the module structure,process module,virtual clinical radiotherapy assessment module seven modules.(4)Based on the Unity3D engine study the simulation of functions of each module and the implementation method of human-computer interaction operation in first-person mode.The mathematical model of traveling wave and standing wave simulation is constructed to realize 3D dynamic visualization of the traveling wave and standing wave acceleration principle.Smooth function motion control method and collision detection technology based on the OBB(Oriented Bounding Box,OBB)bounding box algorithm is studied to provide technical support for the realization of human-computer interaction function.(5)Completed the design and release of the VERT system,carried out the function test and compatibility test of the system evaluated the students from the aspects of interest,confidence,and assessment results by selecting the virtual simulation teaching system of user experience radiotherapy for students,and analyzed the results statistically to evaluate the system.It is preliminarily confirmed that the radiotherapy virtual simulation teaching system has a positive influence on teaching.
