Objective To explore the effect of Helicobacter pylori(Hp)infection on laryngopharyngeal reflux disease(LPRD).Methods The retrospective study were included 181 patients with laryngopharyngeal discomfort who underwent electronic laryngoscopy in the Department of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College, including 51 males and 130 females, aged 45.6±10.0 years.According to the results of reflux symptom index(RSI)scale and reflux finding score(RFS)scale, the patients were divided into LPRD group(95cases)and non-LPRD group(86 cases).Gender, age,Hp infection, smoking, alcohol consumption, sweet and spicy diet and other factors were included in the univariate analysis, and the factors with P<0.05 were further analyzed by multivariate logistic regression analysis;the RSI and RFS of Hp positive and Hp negative LPRD patients were compared scoring difference. Results The results of the univariate analysis showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the comparison of Hp infection between the two groups(X~2=6.34,P=0.012),while there was no statistically significant difference in the comparison of gender, age, smoking, alcohol consumption, sweet and spicy diet between the two groups(all P>0.05).Further multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that Hp infection was an independent risk factor for LPRD(OR=2.190,95%CI:1.184~4.051,P=0.012).In the LPRD group, the RSI and RFS scores of Hp positive patients were(25.28±2.81)and(16.47±2.96)points respectively, and the Hp negative patients were(17.56±2.69)and(12.70±2.05)points respectively. The differences were statistically significant(t=12.45,7.04,all P<0.001).Conclusion Hp infection is an independent risk factor in the pathogenesis of LPRD,which can further aggravate the symptoms and signs of LPRD patients.
