Objective: This study studies the effects of Internet addiction and family parenting style on suicidal behavior in adolescent depressed patients and explores the predictive efficacy of related risk factors to provide a basis for predicting suicide risk in this population. Methods: Participants were adolescent patients recruited from the inpatient and outpatient clinics of the Fourth People’s Hospital of Wuhu, from May 2021 to July 2022.The survey tools included a self-designed questionnaire,HAMD-17,QSA,EMBU and IAT.Participants were divided into suicidal and non-suicidal groups based on previous 6 months of suicidal behavior and QSA-F1 scores.Pearson regression was used to analyze the correlation between QSA-F1 scores and scores on each scale.Dichotomous Logistics regression was used to analyze the relationship between suicidal behavior and parenting style and Internet addiction in adolescents with depression, and the ROC curve was drawn to evaluate its efficacy. Results: A total of 100 subjects were included. There were 27 males(27%)and 73 females(73%)with an average age of(15.47±1.62)years.There were 39(39%)in the suicide group and 61(61%)in the non-suicide group. There were significant differences between the two groups in father’s education, the scores of HAMD-17,QSA scores of attitudes towards suicide people(QSA-F2)and euthanasia(QSA-F4),the scores of father’s excessive interference(F-III),father’s refusal and denial(F-V),father’s excessive protection(F-VI),mother’s punishment and severity(M-IV),and mother’s preference for subjects(M-V)in EMBU,and IAT scores(all p < 0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that QSA-F1 score was correlated with HAMD-17 score,QSA-F2 score,QSAF4 score,F-III score,F-V score,F-VI score,M-IV score and IAT score(all P<0.01).Binary logistic regression analysis showed that registered residence registration(=-1.713,P=0.044)and father’s education(=-2.773,P=0.007)had a negative impact on suicidal behavior of adolescent depression patients, while only child(=2.449,P=0.008),HAMD-17 total score(=0.257,P=0.012),IAT total score(=0.124,P=0.005)had a positive impact. The ROC curve showed that the total score of IAT and the total score of HAMD-17 were statistically significant in the prediction of suicide behavior in adolescents with depression(P<0.001).The AUC,optimal cutoff value, sensitivity and specificity of IAT total score were 0.791,49.5,71.8% and 73.8% respectively; The AUC,optimal cutoff value, sensitivity and specificity of the total score of HAMD-17 were 0.759,18.5,69.2% and 77.0%,respectively.Conclusion:(1)Father’s education level, depression severity, attitudes toward suicides and euthanasia, father’s overly intrusive,denial-denying,overprotective parenting style, mother’s punitive and harsh,subject-preferring parenting style and degree of Internet addiction were associated with suicidal behavior in depressed adolescents.(2)non-urban household registration, lower father education level, only child, more serious degree of depression and more severe Internet addiction are the risk factors of suicidal behavior in adolescent patients with depression.(3)the scores of IAT scale and HAMD-17 scale can be used as indicators to predict the risk of suicidal behavior in children and adolescents with depression. |
