Objective: This study aims to understand the current status of job burnout,sense of life and death anxiety among ICU medical staff during the COVID-19 pandemic,to explore the influencing factors and to investigate the relationship between death anxiety,job burnout and sense of life.Methods: A nationwide random questionnaire distribution was conducted using the Death anxiety scale,sense of life scale and job burnout scale to measure ICU medical staff.Data was collected and analyzed using SPSS 24.0 for statistical analysis,analyzing the relationship between different ICU medical staff’s death anxiety,sense of life and job burnout.Results: The level of death anxiety,sense of life and job burnout among medical staff during the COVID-19 pandemic were moderate.Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that death anxiety was related to the number of times the medical staff were exposed to death per week,gender,whether they had received death education training in their past life,whether their parents were still alive,whether they had encountered medical disputes,the situation of death discussion at home.The sense of life among medical staff was significantly negatively correlated with death anxiety,and job burnout was significantly positively correlated with death anxiety.Conclusion: In the relationship between death anxiety and job burnout,sense of life plays a mediating role,and appropriate intervention can reduce death anxiety among ICU medical staff.
