Clinical Observation Of Hongyuan Capsule On Postoperative Pain And Swelling Of The Fifth Proximal Metatarsal Fracture

Objective:The purpose of this study was to observe the clinical effect of Hongyuan capsule on postoperative pain and swelling of the fifth metatarsal proximal fracture,and to compare it with the traditional postoperative routine symptomatic treatment.Through the comparison of clinical efficacy between the two groups,the advantages of Hongyuan capsule were explored,which provided clinical reference for the treatment of pain and swelling in the surgical area after the fifth metatarsal proximal fracture.Methods:From November 2021 to November 2022,32 patients who met the inclusion criteria were selected from the Department of Foot and Ankle Surgery,Cangzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine,Hebei Province.They were randomly divided into control group(n=16)and experimental group(n=16).The control group received routine treatment after the fifth metatarsal proximal fracture,and the experimental group received Hongyuan capsule orally for 1 week on the basis of the control group.The basic data of the two groups of patients were observed and compared.The visual analogue score(VAS),limb swelling degree,D-dimer index and TCM syndrome score of the patients before medication on the first day after operation were observed and compared.The VAS score,limb swelling degree,D-dimer index and TCM syndrome score of the patients on the seventh day after operation,and the incidence of postoperative incision complications within 1 week after treatment were compared.SPSS25.0 statistical software was used to analyze the collected data.Results:1.There were no statistically significant differences in the age and gender(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in VAS score,limb swelling degree,D-dimer index and TCM syndrome score between the two groups on the first day after operation(P>0.05),indicating that the two groups of patients were comparable.2.There were significant differences in VAS score,limb swelling degree,D-dimer index and TCM syndrome score between the two groups before and after treatment on the first day after operation(P<0.05).Both postoperative routine treatment and postoperative routine treatment combined with Hongyuan capsule can effectively relieve the pain and swelling in the operation area.3.There were significant differences in VAS score,limb swelling degree,D-dimer index and TCM syndrome score between the two groups on the 7 th day after operation(P<0.05).The VAS score,limb swelling degree,D-dimer index and TCM syndrome score of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group,and the clinical symptom relief was more obvious.4.There was no significant difference in the incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups within one week after operation(P>0.05),which cannot explain the better safety of the group.Conclusions:The application of Hongyuan capsule combined with routine symptomatic treatment after operation in the fifth metatarsal proximal fracture surgery can more effectively reduce the pain of the operation area and relieve the swelling of the operation area in the short term.It has significant clinical efficacy and is worthy of clinical application and promotion.
