The ectopic lens in Marfan’s syndrome is the most typical eye symptom, and abnormalities of the ciliary zonule directly cause this clinical manifestation. To investigate the differences in the density and positional distribution of the ciliary zonule between patients with Marfan’s syndrome MFS(MFS)and the average population.Sixteen(16 eyes)3-month-old male Japanese large-eared white rabbits(2-2.5 kg)were selected, and the right eye was removed after air execution and randomly divided into two groups,A,B with eight eyes in each group, and group A was randomly divided into two groups A1 and A2(4 eyes in each group),A1 was removed from the lens and dehydrated and dried for scanning electron microscopy observation,A2 group was cut from the posterior segment of the eye and vitreous to the rear surface of the lens, half of the ciliary zonule was cut,and the other half was retained In group B,the lens capsule was removed and stained with lichen red,and the ciliary zonule was observed and images were taken;in the other 14 patients(19 eyes)with MFS and six patients(6 eyes)with trauma, the lens capsule was collected and observed by scanning electron microscopy, and the lens ciliary zonule density was calculated using image processing software(image.j).Light and electron microscopy showed linear, spherical, and convoluted suspensory ligaments in rabbits. The density of the ciliary zonule in the shift direction was greater in patients with Marfan’s syndrome than in the contralateral side under electron microscopy(P=0.005<0.05,95% CI [1.76,18.85])and the density of the ciliary zonule in the dislocation directionwas smaller in patients with Marfan’s syndrome than in the average population(P=0.001<0.5,95% CI [4.95,29.90]),all of which were statistically significant.Marfan’s syndrome patients with shift direction were not statistically significant compared with the average population in terms of ciliary zonule density(P=0.237>0.5,95% CI [10.46,33.46]).Therefore,we believe that the density of the ciliary zonule in the shift direction in patients with Marfan’s syndrome is consistent with average but higher than contralateral; The asymmetry in ciliary zonule density should be a cause of lens subluxation.
