Research purposes: In this article,we conducted 8 weeks of core strength based exercise intervention training for adolescent track and field athletes with idiopathic scoliosis, observed the changes in the curvature of the thoracic and lumbar spine in the coronal and sagittal planes, and the position and morphology of the pelvis. We compared the spinal shape and function at three different stages before, during(after 4 weeks of intervention),and after(after 8 weeks of intervention)the exercise intervention,to verify the impact of different stages of intervention training on adolescent track and field athletes with idiopathic scoliosis, and to explore the best effective stage. The aim is to find a faster, effective and safe intervention method to provide empirical reference for the treatment of athletes with idiopathic scoliosis.Research methods: 12 young track and field male athletes in Hubei Province were selected as subjects.During the eight-week experimental period, the subjects received 1.5 hours of core strength training three times a week.Twelve young male track and field athletes from Hubei Province were selected as subjects.During the8-week experimental period, the subjects received 1.5 hours of core strength training three times a week.Electronic spine measurement instruments and X-ray films were used to measure the body torso inclination angle(ATI),degrees of kyphosis, scoliosis, forward flexion, kyphosis, and horizontal rotation,as well as the coronal and sagittal planes of the spine at the early, middle, and late stages of the experiment. The obtained data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA to compare the changes in spinal morphology and function at various stages before, during, and after exercise intervention.Research results:1)On the coronal plane, the morphology of the spine before, during, and after the experiment showed that there was no significant difference between the subjects’ Cobb angle,On the coronal plane, the morphology of the spine before, during, and after the experiment showed that there was no significant difference in the subjects’ Cobb angle, torso inclination angle(ATI),clavicular angle(CA),pelvic inclination angle(PO),sacral inclination angle(SO),and torso balance(TS)before and during the experiment(P>0.05);Cobb,CA,and PO had significant differences during and after the experiment(P<0.01),while ATI,SO,and TS had significant differences during and after the experiment(P<0.05);Cobb,ATI,CA,PO,SO,TS had extremely significant differences before and after the experiment(P<0.01).2)On the sagittal plane, the morphology of the spine before, during, and after the experiment showed that there was no significant difference in the lumbar lordosis angle(LL)and sacral inclination angle(SS)before and after the experiment(P>0.05),but there was a significant difference between the experiment and after the experiment(P<0.05),and there was an extremely significant difference between the experiment and before the experiment(P<0.01);There were significant differences among anterior, middle, and posterior measurements of kyphosis, pelvic inclination angle(PT),and thoracic kyphosis angle(TK)(p<0.05).3)Functional aspects of spinal flexibility showed that there was no significant difference in subjects’ chest flexion, waist flexion, and supination, and lateral bending of the right waist before and during the experiment(P>0.05),while there was a significant difference in chest flexion, lateral bending of the left chest, and lateral bending of the left waist before and during the experiment(P<0.05);There were significant differences in chest flexion and recline, lumbar flexion and recline, lateral curvature of left and right chest, and lateral curvature of left and right waist during and after the experiment(P<0.05);There was a significant difference in lumbar kyphosis before and after the experiment(P<0.05).There were extremely significant differences in chest flexion and kyphosis, lumbar forward flexion, lateral curvature, left and right chest, and lateral curvature, left and right waist before and after the experiment(P<0.01).4)The functional aspect of spinal stability showed that there was no significant difference in the left and right rotations of the thoracic vertebral segment during the early and mid intervention training(P>0.05),while there was a significant difference in the left and right rotations of the lumbar vertebral segment during the early and mid intervention training(P<0.05);There was a significant difference between the left and right rotations of the thoracic and lumbar segments during mid and late intervention training(P<0.05);There was a significant difference between the left and right rotations of the thoracic vertebral segment in the early and late intervention training(P<0.05),and there was an extremely significant difference between the left and right rotations of the lumbar vertebral segment in the early and late intervention training(P<0.01).Research conclusion:1.Four weeks of exercise intervention training can improve the spinal function of adolescent track and field athletes with idiopathic scoliosis to a certain extent. After four weeks of core strength training, through training of the core area and waist abdominal muscles,it can effectively improve the atrophy of the concave muscle group, reduce the tension of the convex muscle, and improve the flexibility and stability of the thoracic and lumbar segments of the spine(P<0.05);The overall change of Cobb angle in spinal morphology is not significant, indicating that 4-week exercise intervention training is not effective in improving spinal morphology.2.The 8-week exercise intervention training has a significant effect on the spinal morphology and function of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis track and field athletes, promoting the overall development of the spine to the normal direction. The results showed that the main index of coronal position,Cobb angle, was significantly improved(P<0.05),and shoulder height, pelvic inclination, and torso deviation were significantly improved(P<0.05);On the sagittal plane, the improvement effect of flat chest and hunched back was more significant(P<0.01),and the curvature of chest and waist also had significant changes; And the flexibility and stability of the thoracolumbar spine have also been significantly improved.3.The effect of sports intervention training, which focuses on core strength training,on adolescent track and field athletes with scoliosis for 8 weeks is significantly greater than that for 4 weeks, and the effect of lumbar segment is greater than that of thoracic segment, indicating that the training intensity for thoracic segment is not enough for 4 weeks, and it can be focused on targeted strengthening of thoracic segment training in the later stage;Although the degree of Cobb angle cannot be completely corrected within normal values after 8 weeks, there has been significant improvement in overall angle and body posture, and scoliosis has been significantly improved.
