Since the outbreak of COVID-2019,the city’s biosafety has attracted more attention from the academic circles.As a common kind of vector organism in urban environment,mosquito can spread malaria,dengue fever and other diseases,threatening people’s health.Moreover,mosquito harassment will also hinder the exercise of green space recreation function and reduce users’ willingness to visit and enjoy,which is an important factor restricting urban green space recreation activities.Based on the above background,this paper takes the Xiamen campus of Huaqiao University as the object,and carries out the research through field investigation,questionnaire investigation and the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods.The main work and results are summarized as follows:Firstly,this paper combs the relevant literature on mosquito prevention and control in urban green space,and finds that urban green space planning,waterscape construction,plant configuration,sketch setting and other landscape factors are related to mosquito breeding.Through the field investigation of the green space in Xiamen campus of Huaqiao University,it is found that mosquito prevention was not considered as the construction demand of the green space at the beginning of the design.During the period of high incidence of mosquitoes,chemical drugs can only be used to control the mosquito density.The means of mosquito prevention are relatively single and not ecological,so there is room for optimization.Secondly,this paper selects five representative rest spaces in the campus to monitor the mosquito density through the light induction method,summarizes the temporal and spatial distribution trend of mosquitoes in summer and autumn that year,and through the correlation analysis with the meteorological station data,it is found that the mosquito density has a positive correlation with the rainfall days before ten days,when the confidence is 0.01.It is also positively correlated with the humidity and rainfall before 10 days and the rainfall days before 20 days,but the confidence is reduced to 0.05.According to this characteristic,we should focus on preventing the ponding of green space caused by rainfall and reducing the breeding environment of mosquitoes.Thirdly,469 questionnaires were collected.The results of the questionnaire first affirmed the necessity and importance of reducing urban mosquito harassment.Then it was found that there was a significant negative correlation between the monthly average mosquito density and the score of mosquito situation.The respondents’ evaluation of mosquito situation in October tended to be neutral,while they had a negative evaluation of mosquito feeling in June,July and August and a positive evaluation in September.People who have static rest and travel in the evening are more likely to be disturbed by mosquitoes.Therefore,the static rest space should be reasonably arranged in the garden to avoid guiding tourists to sit and stay in places with dense mosquitoes.Finally,in the previous research,this paper believes that mosquito control can be considered from the perspective of early design and later maintenance management of landscape architecture.This paper puts forward four principles of mosquito reduction environment optimization: active attention,ecology first,public participation and normal monitoring.The optimization contents of mosquito reduction environment are discussed in detail from six aspects: water body,water quality,ponding,plants,landscape sketches and monitoring management.Taking the roof garden of Li Zhaoyao building as an example,the optimization design of mosquito reduction environment is carried out.This study can provide theoretical basis and construction cases for the construction of mosquito less green space in hot and humid areas,and strive to improve the satisfaction and utilization rate of campus green space and build a mosquito less green space environment on the premise of following aesthetics and ensuring the ecological benefits of green space.
