Objective:To explore the effectiveness of immersive enriched environment training on cognitive function recovery in patients with ischemic stroke. Methods:Sixty patients with first-onset ischemic stroke cognitive impairment admitted to the Rehabilitation Medicine Department of Liaocheng People’s Hospital from October 2021 to December 2022 were selected and randomly divided into the conventional rehabilitation group and the enriched environment group with 30 patients in each group by odd-even number lottery method. Both groups received routine rehabilitation treatment, and the enriched environment group was supplemented with immersive enriched environment intervention. The cognitive function and the ability to perform activities of daily living were evaluated on day 1,day 14,day 28,day 42 and day 56 after admission. The adopted scale includes Modified Barthe index(MBI)to assess the ability to perform activities of daily living,Montreal Cognitive Assessment,Mo CA and Mini-mental State Examination(MMSE)evaluated the total score of cognitive function. Results:Before treatment, there were no significant differences in general information,BMI,MMSE and Mo CA scores between the two groups(P > 0.05).After treatment, the scores of the two groups were increased compared with those before treatment(P < 0.05).In the 5 evaluation nodes, the BMI,MMSE and Mo CA scores of the subjects in each group were higher than those before intervention. After 56 days of treatment, the MBI scores of the enriched environment group and the conventional enriched environment group were increased(P < 0.01).BMI,MMSE and Mo CA scores were significantly increased at the assessment node on day 28,with statistically significant increases in assessment scores(P < 0.05),as well as at day 42 and 56 thereafter(P < 0.05).Conclusion:As a new rehabilitation therapy method that mainly relies on complex environmental therapy, immersive enriched environmental training plays a significant role in promoting the recovery of cognitive dysfunction after ischemic stroke. The implementation is relatively simple, patients are highly involved, and it has better rehabilitation effect when combined with routine rehabilitation training. It is also easier to implement the treatment at home after discharge, and can make full use of the family environment to further promote functional recovery. This treatment method is worthy of being promoted and applied in clinical practice.
