| Objective:In this study, the correlation of slow wave in quantitative electroencephalogram(QEEG)and cognitive impairment in temporal lobe epilepsy patients was analyzed,To explore whether it can be used as an objective evaluation index for early identification of cognitive dysfunction in TLE patients,so as to provide help for clinical work. Methods:From January to October 2022,80 patients were diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy in the outpatient or inpatient department of Neurology,Affiliated Hospital of Chifeng University. All enrolled patients were measured by the Mo Ca scale by specially trained doctors for about 10 min.The patients were divided into normal cognitive group and disabled group according to Mo Ca score.QEEG examination and data analysis were performed on the two groups,δ wave power and(δ+θ)/(α+β)ratio(DTABR)were calculated as comparison indexes. The general data,Mo Ca scale score,δ wave power value and(δ+θ)/(α+β)ratio(DTABR)were compared between the two groups, and the correlation between Mo Ca scale score and QEEG power DTABR value was analyzed.Results:(1)General information:There were 40 patients in the temporal lobe epilepsy cognitive impairment group,including17 females(42.5%)and 23 males(57.5%),The average length of schooling was 9.43±2.5 years, the average age was48.15±14.85 years, and the average length of medication was 8.35±4.55 years; In the cognitively normal group, there were 19 females(47.5%)and 21 males(52.5%),with an average age of 50.83±15.58 years,an average years of education of 9.45±2.45 years, and an average age of 50.83±15.58 years,The average duration of medication was 9.23±5.14 years. No significant statistical significance was found in the general data of the two groups.(P≥0.05).(2)Mo Ca scale scores: the Mo Ca scores of temporal lobe epilepsy patients in cognitive impairment group and normal control group were5-25(21±7)points and 26-29(27±2)points,respectively,There were statistically significant differences in Mo Ca scale and QEEG power between the two groups(Z=-7.738,P < 0.05).(3)Correlation analysis: The cognitive function test indexes of temporal lobe epilepsy patients were correlated with QEEG electrical power DTABR.The cognitive function test indexes were negatively correlated with δ wave power and DTABR(P < 0.05),while δ wave power and DTABR were positively correlated. Conclusion:The correlation between slow wave and DTABR in QEEG of temporal lobe epilepsy patients and cognitive impairment suggests that DTABR can be used as an indicator of electrical power for cognitive function screening of temporal lobe epilepsy patients. |
