Abstract/Summary:
Objective Based on the frequency statistics,summarize the content and time distribution of the inscriptions on bronze mirrors,immortal and longevity in Han Dynasty,explore the reasons combined with the historical background,and provide new ideas and methods for the study of the history of medicine culture in Han Dynasty.Methods 2,379 cases of bronze mirror immortal and longevity inscriptions of Han Dynasty that met the inclusion criteria were collected from Pengyu’s Summary of Han Mirror Inscriptions.The inscriptions were divided into 6 subcategories according to different themes,and the time,quantity and keywords of each subcategory were statistically analyzed.Combined with the social and cultural background of Han Dynasty and the development of medicine,the medical cultural connotation and academic research value of Han mirror inscriptions were analyzed.Results Among 2379 cases of Han Dynasty bronze mirror inscriptions under Xianshou subcategory,multi-theme mixed subcategory(886 cases,37.24%)was the most common,descendants and descendants were long subcategory(692 cases,29.09%),gods and food(439 cases,18.07%),immortal subcategory(152 cases,6.39%),longevity subcategory(149 cases,6.26%)and teacher longevity subcategories(70 cases;2.94%)ranked 2nd to 6th,respectively.In the statistics of the occurrence frequency of keywords,the longest descendants were the most(1,252 times),followed by immortals and food(879 times),longevity(736 times),longevity(396 times)and the longevity of their teachers(175 times).In terms of time,from the middle and late Western Han Dynasty to the early Eastern Han Dynasty,the number of times was 1327,the number of times in the Eastern Han Dynasty was 950,and the number of times in the early Western Han Dynasty was 102.Conclusion The mirror inscription reflects the human instinct to pursue longevity,especially under the circumstances of a prosperous and happy life,frequent diseases but not high medical level,coupled with the influence of Huang Lao thought and Confucianism,the desire to prolong life is stronger,and living without passion is one of the ways to achieve longevity.The longevity of children reflected in the mirror inscription reflects the strong desire of the Han Dynasty society for the healthy growth of children.The changes of family relations,the influence of Confucianism,the medical and health conditions and the development level of productive forces,and the requirements of family power are the reasons for the longevity of children.The health culture reflected by mirror inscription is reflected in guiding,taking food,taking immortal medicine and so on.The spread of immortal thoughts and the widespread use of Taoist prescriptions influence the masses’ belief in pursuing immortality and becoming immortal.The medicine reflected in the mirror inscription includes lucid ganoderma,Yuquan and jujube,which can prolong life and even become immortal.The collation and study of bronze mirror immortals and longevity inscriptions in Han Dynasty deepens the understanding of the value of bronze mirror cultural relics and complements the study of medical culture history in Han Dynasty.
