ObjectiveBased on the DEU teaching concept,a new teaching mode "micro-ward" teaching was designed and applied to the clinical teaching of nursing students in the department of cardiology.The traditional teaching method is compared with the "micro-ward" teaching method,and the influence of the two teaching methods on the students’ theory,operation,and comprehensive quality performance,as well as the difference in the evaluation of teachers by classmates is compared.MethodsIn this study,a before-and-after method was used.120 nursing students who met the admittance and emission standards in the clinical practice of cardiology in a tertiary hospital in Jiangsu Province were selected as the research objects.60 students who entered the clinical practice of cardiology from January 2021 to August 2021 were selected to use the traditional teaching method(control group),and 60 students who entered the clinical practice of cardiology from September 2021 to August 2022 were selected to use the "micro ward"teaching method(experimental group).The control group adopted the traditional clinical teaching method,centered on the teaching teacher,and explained to the students one by one according to the weekly teaching objectives of the teaching plan.The skill learning was repeated through the students’ observation and the teacher’s explanation of the key points.The teacher provided the electronic template and the source of materials for the ward round.After the students wrote the ward round,the teacher provided suggestions for modification before organizing the ward round.The experimental group adopted the "micro ward" teaching mode designed based on the DEU teaching concept,including the "micro ward" environment,"micro ward" design,"micro ward" establishment,teaching scheme,teaching objectives,case teaching,mind mapping and other teaching methods,as well as related teaching equipment and materials.Students participate in a learning team composed of doctors,tutors and junior nurses to complete teaching practice in the "micro ward".On average,they complete the study of one case and mind map every week.The general tutors in the department are responsible for the assessment and test of students every week.Communicate with each student for no less than 30 minutes.The content of the conversation involves life,learning and work experience,not only the assessment.Compare the two groups of students’ comprehensive ability scores in theory,operation and ward round after teaching,as well as the differences in the evaluation of teachers’teaching behavior at the end of the practice in the department.Results1.The general information statistics of the two groups of interns,the difference is not statistically significant(P>0.05).2.The theoretical and operational achievements of the two groups of interns after training were compared,and the experimental group was higher than the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.The difference in the comprehensive ability of the two groups of interns in teaching rounds was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.The difference between the two groups of interns on the teaching behavior of the teachers was statistically significant(P<0.05).ConclusionCompared with the traditional teaching mode,the "micro-ward" teaching mode can more effectively improve the theory,operation,and comprehensive quality performance of clinical nursing practice students in the department of cardiology,and can standardize teachers’behavior and improve students’ satisfaction,which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
