Abstract/Summary:
Objective: To investigate the characteristics of vibration perception threshold in type2 diabetes mellitus patients and the correlation between age and vibration perception threshold in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Objective: To investigate the characteristics of vibration perception threshold in type2 diabetes mellitus patients and the correlation between age and vibration perception threshold in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Methods: 171 inpatients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who were admitted to our hospital from December 2017 to December 2021 were selected as subjects. The inclusion criteria were those who met the 1999 WHO diabetes diagnostic criteria and had no clinical data deficiency.Exclusion criteria:(1)patients with other types of diabetes;(2)multiple hospitalizations in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus;(3)Severe arrhythmia in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus;(4)mental illness;(5),serious liver and kidney diseases, varicose veins;(6)acute infectious diseases, acute complications of diabetes;(7)Lack of clinical data. The 171 subjects included 98 males and 73 females, which were divided into 76 cases <60(non-elderly group)and95cases ≥60(elderly group)according to age.The change of vibration perception threshold between two groups was discussed. Methods: 171 inpatients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who were discussed.Results:1.In comparison of general data and clinical data between the two groups, except gender, smoking history and diastolic blood pressure(P<0.05),there were no statistical differences in body mass index, systolic blood pressure, blood lipid and uric acid(P>0.05),indicating comparability between the two groups.2.The threshold value of vibration perception in the elderly group was significantly higher than that in the non-elderly group(P<0.01),indicating that the elderly patients with type 2diabetes were more likely to have weakened or disappeared vibration perception than the non-elderly patients.VPT increases with age, indicating that patients with type 2diabetes are more likely to have weakened or disappeared vibration perception with age.3.The threshold level of vibration perception was higher in the older group of patients with type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy(P<0.01)and in the older group of patients without diabetic peripheral neuropathy(P<0.01).These results indicate that Results:1.In comparison of general data and clinical data between the two groups, except gender, smoking history and diastolic blood pressure(P<0.05),there were no statistical results indicate that the vibration perception of patients with type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy is more likely to weaken or disappear with the increase of age,and the vibration perception of patients with type 2 diabetes is more likely to weaken or disappear with the increase of age.4.Pearson correlation analysis of age and vibration perception threshold and its grading showed that age was positively correlated with vibration perception threshold of both feet(P<0.1).the vibration perception of patients with type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy is more likely to weaken or disappear age and vibration perception threshold of type 2 diabetes patients;2.Vibration perception threshold can be used as a simple,economical,non-invasive and effective early screening index for type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Conclusions: 1.There was a positive correlation between age and vibration perception threshold of type 2 diabetes patients;2.Vibration perception threshold can be used
