Clinical Study Of Yishen-Huoxue-Anshen Decoction In Treating Poststroke Insomnia Of Kidney Deficiency And Blood Stasis Type

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Yishen-Huoxue-Anshen Decotion and Alprazolam in treating poststroke insomnia(kidney deficiency and blood stasis type)through a clinical study,and to conduct analysis of the prescription and to explore the characteristics of the prescription,expecting to provide guidance for clinic.Methods All of the 70 patients met inclusion criteria.They were randomly divided into observation group(Yishen-Huoxue-Anshen Decoction + Alprazolam)and control group(Alprazolam),with 35 patients in each group for 4 weeks as a course of treatment.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)and Modified Barthel Index(MBI)were recorded before and after treatment,to observe the clinical efficacy and drug safety before and after treatment.Results1.Total clinical efficacy: The efficiency of the observation group was90.91%,and the control group was 75.00%,which is statistically different(P<0.05).2.Efficacy of TCM syndrome: The score of the TCM syndrome was significantly reduced in both groups,and the observation group decreased more significantly,showing a statistically difference in the comparison between groups(P<0.05).The TCM syndrome effective rates of the observed group and the control group were 87.88% and 62.50%,respectively,which is statistically different(P<0.05).3.PSQI scale score: The total PSQI score was significantly lower in both groups,and the observed group decreased more significantly,with a significant statistically different between groups(P < 0.01).After treatment in each group,the changes in the PSQI factor scores were statistically different when compared with before treatment(P<0.05).In comparison between groups,there was no statistically different in the scores after treatment in sleep onset latency and sleep efficiency(P>0.05),and statistically different in sleep quality,sleep duration,sleep disturbance,and daytime dysfunction scores(P<0.05).4.MBI scale score: The differences in the scores of MBI in the two groups were statistically significant after treatment compared to before treatment(P<0.01),and there were no statistical differences between the two groups(P>0.05).5.Safety observation: No obvious abnormalities appeared in the examination of the two groups’ general vital signs before and after the treatment,and no obvious adverse drug reactions or other abnormalities occurred during the medication.Conclusion Yishen-Huoxue-Anshen Decoction combined with alprazolam was more effective than the alprazolam tablets alone in improving total clinical efficacy,TCM symptoms,sleep quality,sleep duration,sleep disturbance and daytime dysfunction.However,the two groups were equally effective in improving sleep onset latency,sleep efficiency and activities of daily life.Yishen-Huoxue-Anshen Decoction combined with alprazolam tablets are safe and reliable in the process of the study,which is worthy of clinical promotion.
