| Objective: The questionnaire on the knowledge of prevention of venous thromboembolism for oncology nurses was prepared to understand the knowledge and prevention status of oncology nurses in secondary and tertiary hospitals in Guangxi. To explore the existing problems in the prevention of venous thromboembolism in oncology nurses, and to analyze the influencing factors,so as to provide a basis for the development of VTE related training and the establishment of VTE prevention norms in oncology nursing. Methods: 1.Questionnaire preparation: through referring to relevant domestic and foreign literatures, published guidelines and expert consensus, combined with the characteristics of cancer patients, the questionnaire item pool was constructed through group discussion;by applying Delphi method,21 experts in relevant fields were invited to carry out two rounds of expert letter consultation to further revise the questionnaire and form the first draft of the questionnaire.A total of 312 nurses from the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Guangxi Medical University were selected for the pre-survey.Statistical methods were applied to gradually select items, test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, and finally the formal questionnaire was formed.2.Status survey: From September 2020 to October 2020,981 qualified oncology nurses from 49 hospitals in 14 prefecture-level cities in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region were investigated by multi-stage sampling method.SPSS 22.0 statistical software was used for statistical analysis of data.Frequency, composition ratio and mean ± standard deviation were used for statistical description.T-test or analysis of variance and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the influencing factors of the current knowledge of VTE prevention among oncology nurses. Results: 1.Questionnaire compilation results: After Delphi expert letter consultation, the positive coefficients of the two rounds of expert letter consultation were 100%,the expert authority coefficients were 0.886 and 0.885,and the Kandall coordination coefficients were 0.330 and 0.356(P<0.001).After experts’ deletion and modification,a pre-survey questionnaire with 2 dimensions and 58 items was formed. The questionnaire items were screened through discrimination analysis and correlation coefficient method, and a total of 52 items were finally formed, including two dimensions of basic knowledge and preventive measures. The total Cronbach’s α coefficient of the questionnaire in this study was 0.825,the Cronbach’s α coefficient of each item was 0.816~0.834,the test-retest reliability was 0.840,the split-half reliability was 0.761,and the content validity(S-CVI)was 0.991,indicating that the questionnaire has good reliability and validity.2.Status quo survey results: the average score of VTE prevention knowledge of oncology nurses was 40.17±6.26 points, and the average score rate was 77.25%,indicating that the knowledge level of VTE prevention of oncology nurses was above the average level. The lowest score of knowledge is9 points, and the highest score is 52 points, with a full score rate of 0.20%.The correct rate of knowledge items ranged from 19.37% to 94.70%.The results of multi-factor analysis showed that the five main factors affecting the score of VTE prevention knowledge of oncology nurses were education background, professional title, working years in oncology department, whether they had participated in VTE related training, and whether the department they worked in routinely carried out VTE risk assessment, which accounted for 30.0% variation in the score of VTE prevention knowledge of oncology nurses. Conclusions: 1.The reliability and validity of the questionnaire prepared in this study is good, and it can be used to investigate the current situation of the knowledge level of the prevention of venous thromboembolism among nurses in the department of oncology.2.The scores of VTE prevention knowledge of nurses in the oncology department of secondary and tertiary hospitals in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region investigated in this study was above average, and their knowledge was not comprehensive enough.Nurses’ education background, professional title, working years in oncology department, whether they have participated in VTE related training, and whether the department they work in routinely carries out VTE risk assessment are the main factors affecting the knowledge level of oncology nurses on VTE prevention.Hospital should strengthen the standardized training, improve the quality of training;develop perfect VTE nursing standard;establish a sound prevention and control system in the hospital,so as to improve the knowledge level of VTE prevention of oncology nurses and reduce the incidence of venous thrombosis in patients. |
