Application Value Of Simethicone In Colonoscopy

Objective: To assess the application value of simethicone combined with compound polyethylene glycol in bowel preparation before colonoscopy.Methods: 120 cases who underwent colonoscope examination from June 2017 to August 2017 were selected in the study.Then all the cases were divided into 2 groups randomly,each with 60 cases.Patients in the control group were treated with simple oral administration of compound polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder for bowel preparation,and added simethicone in the observation groups.Colorectal cleanliness level,colorectal bubble level,the detection rate of colorectal polyps and examination time in the two groups were recorded respectively.Results: The excellent and good rate of intestinal air bubble in observation group(95.00%)was higher than that in control group(61.67%),there were significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05).The excellent and good rate of intestinal cleaning in observation group(81.67%)was higher than that in control group(76.67%),the two groups are similar,and there was no signifcant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).the detection rate of colorectal polyps in observation group(41.67%)was higher than that in control group(18.33%),there were significant differences between the two groups(P < 0.05).The average examination time in observation group(11.27±3.33)minutes was higher than that in control group(14.60 ±5.79)minutes,there were significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion: Taking simethicone emulsion before colorectal endoscopy can significantly reduce bubble of intestine,improve the visualization,enhance the detection rate of colorectal polyps,shorten examination time.It can be widely used in in bowel preparation before colonoscopy..
