Objective The study was aimed to investigate the current status and to explore the relationship between workplace bullying and anxiety.To analyze the influencing factors of workplace bullying and to observe the physical and mental health of nursing students.Protect the rights of nursing students and to stabilize the nursing team.The results of this study provide a reference for researchers to put forward measures to prevent and reduce workplace bullying.Methods 665 nursing students who met the inclusion criteria were recruited from six first class hospitals in Hangzhou during March-April 2017.The questionnaire consists of three parts;the general information questionnaire,the workplace bully questionnaire and finally an self-assessed anxiety scale.Establishing a database and inputting data using Excel and analyzing data using software SPSS24.0.The statistical analysis methods include:the general information of the internship nursing student were described by frequency and percentage.Two classifications of data were compared by independent samples t-test,multi-classification data were compared by one-factor analysis of variance or nonparametric test.Correlation between workplace bullying and anxiety was explored by Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear stepwise regression analysis.Results(1)The total score of workplace bullying of nursing students ranged from 14 to 45,the total average score was(17.08 ± 5.05).The score sorting of three sub-factors from high to low were work pression,personal attacks and social exclusion.The rate of nursing students who suffered from workplace bullying was 62.3%.(2)The differences of workplace bullying scores in gender,age had statistical significance(P<0.05).Male nursing students,nursing students who over 25 years old scored higher.(3)The total score of anxiety of nursing students ranged from 25to76,the total average score was(41.230±9.906).20% nursing students had anxiety,15.6% had mild anxiety,3.8% had moderate anxiety,0.6% had serious anxiety.(4)The differences of anxiety scores in education had statistical significance(P<0.05).During the graduation internship,the higher the educational level,the higher the score of nursing students’ anxiety,nursing student above Bachelor degree anxiety scores highest in this research.(5)Workplace bullying and the three sub-factors had positive correlation with anxiety(P<0.05,r=0.315).(6)Multiple regression analysis showed that gender,age and anxiety entered the equation,the three factors influenced nursing students’ workplace bullying’ experience,could explain 13.5% of the total variation of workplace bullying.Conclusion(1)The rate of workplace bullying among nursing students is high,Workplace bullying is influenced by gender,age.Male nursing students,nursing students who over 25 years old scored higher.(2)Nursing students respond well to anxiety,few nursing students have anxiety.Most of nursing students with anxiety are in a mild anxiety state,few nursing students with severe and moderate anxiety.Education level of nursing students influence nursing student anxiety.The higher workplace bullying score,the higher the anxiety score of nursing students.(3)Positive correlation has been found between workplace bullying and anxiety,workplace bullying has positive relationship with nursing student anxiety.(4)Gender,age and anxiety are the main factors affecting the workplace bullying of nursing students. |
