| Our national situation is that we have too many people but too little land and water.Moreover,the quality of cultivated land is still not high on the whole.About 70% of cultivated land is of lower quality,and reserve resources are insufficient.In the No.1Central Document of 2023,the first two items of the section on strengthening agricultural infrastructure mentioned strengthening the protection and use control of cultivated land and strengthening the construction of high-standard farmland.In recent decades,the protection of cultivated land quality is insufficient,and the decline of agricultural quality will hinder the improvement of agricultural productivity,and will not bring environmental and social benefits.As the most direct first responsible person,farmers are the first person in agricultural production activities,the important influence of cultivated land is self-evident.Therefore,this paper chooses the perspective of farmers to explore the factors that affect farmers’ behavior of protecting and improving the quality of cultivated land,in order to provide basis and theoretical support for the government to guide farmers to rationally use cultivated land and protect the quality of cultivated land,and provide reference for the improvement of the policy of protecting and improving the quality of cultivated land.Therefore,based on relevant theories and combined with sample region profiles,this paper takes farmers’ cognitive level,individual endowment characteristics,family capital endowment characteristics,natural resource endowment and government as independent variables that can affect farmers’ behavioral willingness to protect and improve cultivated land quality,and takes farmers’ behavioral willingness and behavioral choice as dependent variables to study farmers’ cultivated land quality protection behaviors.Based on the field survey data of farmers in Banqiao Xiaotun Village,Sugeyi Village,Shuitangpu Village and Shangpucao Village in Shilin Yi Autonomous County,Kunming City,this paper obtained samples in the form of offline questionnaires,and conducted descriptive statistical analysis of the samples.This study explored the influencing factors of farmers’ cognition and behavior choice in the protection and improvement of cultivated land quality.Firstly,the evaluation system of farmers’ cognition level of cultivated land quality protection was constructed based on valuebelief-norm model,and the entropy model was used for scientific evaluation.Then,the factors affecting cultivated land quality protection behavior were analyzed empirically by using binary logistic and multiple linear regression models.The results showed that:(1)The average,maximum and minimum min of farmers’ cognition level about cultivated land quality protection and improvement was 3.045,4.551 and 1.140.This indicates that the cognitive level of farmers is in the middle and upper reaches.(2)The behavioral intention of farmers,the values of farmers and the ownership of farm tools have a significant positive impact on the selection and implementation of organic fertilizer to protect and improve the quality of cultivated land,while the educational level of farmers has a significant negative impact.(3)The behavioral willingness of farmers to employ labor force,the fertility of cultivated land,the proportion of household labor force,and the cultivated land technology mastered by farmers have a significant positive impact on farmers’ choice of flat land to protect and improve cultivated land quality.(4)Farmers’ understanding of relevant government policies,cultivated land transfer,influence degree of government subsidies,annual household income and land complex have significant positive effects on farmers’ choice to solve the problem of soil compaction to protect and improve cultivated land quality,while annual household income has significant negative effects.Based on the above analysis,four policy suggestions were put forward:(1)The government should strengthen the publicity of cultivated land quality protection policies,raise the awareness of farmers’ cultivated land quality protection by holding policy interpretation lectures and agricultural technology training,and stimulate the internal driving force of farmers’ cultivated land quality protection;(2)Establish diversified subsidies and targeted support policies,establish cultivated land quality protection compensation system,reduce farmers’ input costs and improve the comparative benefits of cultivated land quality protection;(3)Promote targeted cultivated land quality protection technology,improve supporting facilities through technological innovation,and lower the threshold of technology use;(4)To establish a perfect and sound means of production and agricultural machinery system,on the one hand to make up for the shortage of farmers’ means of production,on the other hand to provide an accurate market for agricultural tools machinery production enterprises. |
