Research On Development Status And Countermeasures Of Sericulture Industry In Pingguo City

The sericulture industry is an important livelihood pillar industry and characteristic industry with market competitive advantage in Guangxi.Since the 21 st century,with China’s accession to the World Trade Organization and the continuous development of an open economy,coupled with the implementation of the Western Development Strategy and the "Sericulture Transferring from East to West" project,the sericulture industry in Guangxi is rapidly developing.Today,Guangxi has become the largest raw silk cocoon production base and cocoon silk processing base in China and even in the world,occupying an important position and influence in the global silk industry development.However,the sericulture industry in Guangxi is facing the dilemma of being "big but not strong".Therefore,this paper takes Pingguo City,Baise City as the key research area,and explores the development status and existing problems of the sericulture industry in Pingguo City,as well as the factors affecting its development,through data analysis,field research,summary and induction,and proposes countermeasures to improve and revitalize the sericulture industry from the perspective of rural revitalization.The study found that the influencing factors of the development of the sericulture industry in Pingguo City can be divided into two parts: internal and external.Internal factors include climate and environment,industry conditions,human resources,and infrastructure,while external factors mainly include economic conditions,market demand,policy guidance,and service systems.In order to deeply analyze the development status and existing problems of the sericulture industry in Pingguo City,this study constructed an index system and used the SWOT analysis method as the main line to conduct a matrix analysis of the strengths,weaknesses,opportunities,and challenges of the sericulture industry in Pingguo City,and concluded that the best strategy for Pingguo City to implement is the reversal development strategy.Based on this,this study proposes a series of feasible suggestions based on the five revitalization principles of industry,talent,ecology,culture,and organization for rural revitalization.Firstly,policies should be targeted to leverage endogenous power in the industry;secondly,enterprise base alliances should be formed to enhance radiation-driven;thirdly,technological innovation should be the driving force to lead the industry development;fourthly,development talents should be cultivated to ensure the industry’s development;fifthly,cultural and tourism projects should be created to extend the industry chain;and sixthly,ecological restoration should be emphasized to achieve green development of the industry.With these policy suggestions,the study aims to promote the sericulture industry in Pingguo City to quickly embark on the path of high-quality development,and provide reference guidance for local governments.
