| Xanthoceras sorbifolia is a unique oil and barren mountain greening tree species in northern China,which has important economic and ornamental value.There are natural resources of X.sorbifolia in Inner Mongolia,Gansu,Shaanxi,and other places.However,the cultivated varieties of X.sorbifolia are mostly natural populations,with poor yield and plant performance,which seriously restricts the yield and quality of local X.sorbifolia.Based on years of selection,the differences in seedling height,ground diameter,main root length,and number of primary lateral roots between X.sorbifolia mother forest seedlings and ordinary X.sorbifolia seedlings in Dongfeng Forest Farm were compared;Carry out multi site regional experiments for many years to analyze the performance of excellent seed sources of X.sorbifolia mother forest in terms of tree height,crown width,seed setting,seed yield,and seed yield in Dongfeng Forest Farm,and compare the differences between the seeds of X.sorbifolia mother forest and ordinary X.sorbifolia seeds in terms of seed oil content,kernel oil content,fat content,protein content,crude fiber content,and vitamin E content,It can provide technical support for the approval,promotion,application,and reasonable development and utilization of excellent provenance and new varieties of X.sorbifolia mother forest in Dongfeng Forest Farm.The main conclusions obtained are as follows:(1)From 1998 to 2010,the parent tree of X.sorbifolia was selected in Dongfeng Forest Farm of Tuquan County for 13 consecutive years,and passed the consistency and stability tests of new plant varieties.The consistency performance was good,and no abnormal plants were found;Extremely stable,with a high oil content in the kernel,it has the characteristics of excellent strains,laying a foundation for conducting regional trials and new variety approval.(2)The seedling growth analysis showed that the 1-year-old seedlings of X.sorbifolia mother forest provenance in Dongfeng Forest Farm had a height of 80.08 cm,a ground diameter of 0.60 cm,a main root length of 30.47 cm,and a primary lateral root count of 8.88.The one-year seedlings from the parent forest provenance of X.sorbifolia in Dongfeng Forest Farm are significantly higher than those from the common X.sorbifolia provenance in seedling height,main root length,and number of primary lateral roots,and higher in ground diameter than those from the common X.sorbifolia provenance,but the difference is not significant.(3)The regional experimental study shows that the average tree height of the excellent provenance of X.sorbifolia mother forest in Dongfeng Forest Farm is 186.47 cm,the average crown width is 190.59 cm,the average seed setting amount is 8.19 kg,the average seed yield is 2.11 kg,and the average seed yield rate is 27.00%.The excellent provenance of X.sorbifolia mother forest in Dongfeng Forest Farm has significant differences in tree height in different experimental regions,while the differences in crown width,seed setting,seed yield,and seed yield in different experimental regions are not significant,indicating that tree height is susceptible to environmental,soil,and climate types,while crown width,seed setting,seed yield,and seed yield have strong genetic stability,and are not susceptible to environmental,soil,and climate types.The excellent provenance of X.sorbifolia mother forest in Dongfeng Forest Farm is significantly higher than the common X.sorbifolia provenance in seed setting and seed yield,and there is no significant difference in other aspects.X.sorbifolia has strong adaptability,and its excellent provenance can be planted in Xing’an League region(32 °-46 ° N,100 °-127 ° E),or under the same climatic conditions.(4)The component analysis study showed that the oil content of the seeds in the parent forest of X.sorbifolia in Dongfeng Forest Farm was 40.69%,the oil content in the seeds was 62.72%,the fat content in the seeds was 66.53%,the protein content in the seeds was 29.15%,the crude fiber content in the seeds was 5.64%,and the vitamin E content in the seeds was 16.13mg/100 g.The seed oil content,kernel oil content,and kernel fat content of the parent forest of X.sorbifolia in Dongfeng Forest Farm are significantly higher than those of ordinary X.sorbifolia seeds,with excellent strain characteristics.The genetic stability of the yield and shape of the excellent source of X.sorbifolia in the mother forest of Dongfeng Forest Farm is strong.It is recommended to vigorously promote the excellent source of X.sorbifolia in Xing’an League. |
