Aiming at the problem of friction damage in the process of mechanized harvesting and transportation of potatoes, this paper studies the characteristics of friction damage between potatoes and different materials, friction energy loss, acceleration, speed and displacement, collision force and friction force between potatoes, and potato skin breaking rate by combining experimental research and simulation analysis. The main research contents are as follows:1.Taking initial height, potato mass, potato varieties, friction materials and temperature as experimental factors, and taking potato epidermal damage proportion as evaluation index, the factorial experiment design was carried out by using Minitab software, and the significance of the influence of experimental factors on potato friction damage was analyzed. The results showed that the significant factors affecting potato friction damage were initial height, potato mass and potato varieties. The significant degree of influence was: initial height > potato mass > potato varieties.2.Based on the results of factorial experiment, taking initial height, potato mass and potato varieties as experimental factors, taking the proportion of epidermal damage and energy consumption loss ratio as evaluation indexes, the relationship between significant factors and potato friction damage and energy loss characteristics was further explored through single factor experiment, and the conclusions were as follows: With the increase of initial height, the proportion of epidermal damage and energy loss ratio increased gradually; With the increase of potato mass, the proportion of epidermal damage gradually increased, and the energy consumption loss ratio gradually decreased; The influence of potato varieties on the proportion of epidermal damage and energy consumption loss ratio is in the following order: Xisen1 > Jizhangshu12 > Xisen6 >Xuechuanhong > Netherlands15,Netherlands15 > Xisen6 > Xisen1 > Xuechuanhong >Jizhangshu12.3.The acceleration of potato friction damage test was collected by sensors and data acquisition analyzer, and the acceleration, velocity and displacement data of potato friction were obtained by off-line analysis software, and then the relationship between different test factors and potato friction kinematics characteristics was explored. The conclusions were as follows: The acceleration, velocity and displacement of potato friction decreased with the increase of initial height; The acceleration, velocity and displacement of potato friction decreased with the increase of potato mass. The acceleration, velocity and displacement of potato friction had no obvious change law under the condition of potato varieties.4.The discrete element model of potato was established, and the intrinsic parameters and basic contact parameters needed for the simulation of potato-potato friction were calibrated. The simulation experiment of potato-potato friction was carried out with the collision total force and friction force between potatoes as experimental indicators, and the conclusions were as follows: With the increase of initial height, the collision total force and friction force between potatoes increased gradually; With the increase of potato mass, the collision total force and friction force between potatoes increased gradually.5.Taking initial height, potato mass, potato variety and initial speed as experimental factors and potato skin breaking rate as evaluation index, the effects of different experimental factors on potato skin breaking rate were explored through single factor experiments. The conclusions were as follows: With the increase of initial height and initial speed, potato skin breaking rate increased gradually. With the increase of potato mass, the potato skin breaking rate first increased and then decreased. There is no obvious change law of potato skin breaking rate under potato varieties.
