In recent years, due to the continuous climate warming caused by the excessive human activity intensity, the global social economy and ecology have been greatly damaged.China attaches great importance to global warming.General Secretary Xi Jinping has proposed that China will achieve a carbon peak around 2030 and strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.China as early as the 1990 s put forward the implementation of natural forest resources protection project, and is the largest investment in the world and the largest ecological restoration project, the primary purpose of project implementation is to protect the natural forest, make the ecological resources environment repair, with a lot of human and financial resources, clear whether the engineering construction has achieved the expected ecological effect and natural forest resources protection to the contribution of regional carbon sink growth, not only the objective evaluation of the engineering construction results, but also provide theoretical reference for subsequent ecological engineering construction.Since 1998,the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River Basin is mainly through reducing the wood output of natural forests in the region and strengthening the construction and protection of ecological public welfare forests to achieve the purpose of fundamental restoration of natural forest resources,so as to achieve the goal of improving carbon sink capacity. In order to clear the influence of natural protection engineering on regional forest carbon sink, this study first by descriptive statistics method, global Moran’s I index analysis clarify the Yangtze river basin on the basis of upstream forest carbon evolution characteristics, the double difference model empirical explore the natural forest resources protection project of regional forest carbon sink effect, also by constructing intermediary effect model further examines the natural forest resources protection project on the influence of regional forest carbon sink mechanism, the main research conclusion is as follows:(1)From 1992 to 2019,the forest carbon sink in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River Basin showed a fluctuating trend on the whole, but the distribution of forest carbon sink in each region is unbalanced, with significant regionalization and significant spatial dependence, showing a spatial distribution pattern of high forest carbon sink in the upper reaches and low forest carbon sink in the middle reaches.(2)The natural forest resource protection project can continuously and effectively increase the supply of forest carbon sink and improve the regional ecological environment. The results of the model study in this paper show that,on average, the contribution of the natural forest resource protection project policy to the regional forest carbon sink is about2.1%,and the regional economic development level will have a certain positive impact on the regional forest carbon sink.Natural conditions are an important factor affecting the growth of forest carbon sink in the region. Both the annual precipitation and annual temperature will have a significant positive impact on the forest carbon sink in the region.(3)The natural forest resource protection project policy can not only directly affect the regional forest carbon sink, but also indirectly affect the growth of the regional forest carbon sink capacity through the impact on labor transfer. In the aspect of subsequent ecological engineering construction, the influence of spatial interaction between regions needs to be considered.
