Research On Ornamental Orchids Of Southern Jiangxi Province

The southern region of Jiangxi province contains eighteen counties and districts in Ganzhou,with a total area of 39,379.64 km~2,accounting for nearly a quarter of Jiangxi province.There are many mountain ranges and complex environments in the region,constituting a wide variety of orchid habitats.Therefore,from 2020 to 2022,we conducted field surveys on orchids in southern Jiangxi province,and collected and collated a large number of references,combined with specimen information,compiled a list of orchids in southern Jiangxi province,and prepared a regional orchid search list for the list;analyzed the composition of orchid flora in the region,compared with other related regions to analyze the characteristics of the flora,and used cluster analysis to study the relationship between the flora;With the purpose of screening orchids with high developmental value,we constructed a comprehensive assessment system for ornamental orchid resources in southern Jiangxi province with reference to previous plant evaluation studies,hoping to provide a data base and theoretical guidance for the reasonable development and utilization of orchids in the region.The following conclusions were obtained:(1)After investigation and collation,48 genera and 127 species of orchid branches in southern region Jiangxi province region,accounting for 78.7%and 78.4%respectively,are rich in species.There are 7 diverse genera containing 66 species,accounting for 52.0%of the orchid species in southern Jiangxi province,14 genera of few species and 27 genera of single species;the living types are complete,mainly geotypes.(2)The orchid flora of southern Jiangxi province is complex and diverse in composition,with 11 distribution types and 2 variants by genus and 7 distribution types and 3 variants by species.The endemism is obvious and the tropical properties are outstanding.In terms of richness,the richness of orchids in southern Jiangxi province is lower than that of neighboring regions;in terms of similarity,southern Jiangxi province is closely related to the orchid flora of neighboring regions;the clustering results show that it shares a common zonal origin with Nanling of Guangdong,southern Hunan and Fujian.(3)The quantitative assessment of orchids in southern Jiangxi province was conducted using hierarchical analysis,and the assessment results were systematically clustered into three classes,with 16 species of priority exploitation,35 species of general exploitation value,and 76 species of low exploitation value,to provide scientific guidance for rational local exploitation of orchids.
