Dermatophytosis is caused by infection with a variety of dermatophytes. It is a common infectious skin disease in dogs and cats,With the rapid development of pet industry in recent years, the number of dogs and cats raised is increasing year by year.As a zoonosis,it is necessary to understand the characteristics of dermatophytosis and the prevalence of pathogenic bacteria in dogs and cats In this study,To investigate the prevalence of dermatophytes in dogs and cats in the Economic development area of Nanchang City,to compare the accuracy of different methods for identification of dermatophytes, and to analyze the sensitivity of isolated strains to drugs in vitro,so as to provide reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment of dermatophytes in dogs and cats. This experiment collected materials of Dermatophytosis which are from Nanchang Jingkai District pet Hospital and cat breeding houses from October 2021 to October 2022 to make statistical analysis on the incidence, season, age, breed, gender and location of Dermatomycosis in dogs and cats. The statistical results show that the incidence of Dermatophytosis in dogs is 4% and that of cats is 12.5%.The incidence is significantly higher in dogs under one year and the incidence was significantly higher in autumn and winter than in spring and summer;Dermatophytosisin dogs and cats is associated with the site of disease, the disease in cats is easily infected in the head and ear,the disease in dogs is easily infected in the head and behind the elbow.Specstrains were identified by microscopy and fractional cultivation to carry out morphological identification.PCR detection and severally building stammbaum of ITS region and D1-D2 region are to further identify the species. In total, there were 60 cases of Dermatophytes by identification, including 57 strains of Microsporum canis,2 strains of N.incurvata and 1 strain of Trichophyton interdigitale. The results of identification by PCR and morphology were consistent after compare. However, comparing the ITS target site and the D1-D2 target site for the phylogenetic tree showed that the ITS target site was better than the D1-D2 target site for the Trichophyton complex and Nannizzia gypsea.Three antifungal drugs of terbinafine, itraconazole and ketoconazole were selected for in vitro susceptibility test of strains from different sources using the microliquid base dilution method recommended by NCCLS.The results showed that the best sensitive drug was terbinafine for three different species, followed by itraconazole. However,Microsporum Canis isolates from cat breeding houses were less sensitive to drugs than those isolated from pet clinics.Trichophyton interdigitale and N.incurvate isolated from dogs are less sensitive to drugs than Microsporum canis isolated from cats.
