At present,the construction of new agricultural science is in full swing,and it is urgent and important to study the cultivation quality of composite applied talents.As a typical representative of high-level composite applied talents,the cultivation quality of agricultural postgraduates not only affects the quality of professional graduate education and induces various conflicts and problems,but also directly affects the quality of implementation of China’s rural revitalization strategy and the effectiveness of agricultural and rural modernization construction due to the special characteristics of their cultivation goals and employment destinations.This project takes agricultural postgraduates as the research object,from the perspective of learning harvest,and summarizes the cultivation standards of agricultural postgraduates in new agricultural background based on the analysis of the cultivation program of agricultural postgraduates.Then constructs the index system from three aspects of knowledge growth,comprehensive practical ability improvement,and ideological and moral quality progress.And verifies them through factor analysis to evaluate the cultivation quality of agricultural postgraduates and discover the problems in cultivation and the quality differences between different majors.Next,we discuss the influencing factors for cultivation quality of agricultural postgraduates from individual characteristics and satisfaction of cultivation process and analyze the mediating effect of learning input,practical involvement,and professional identity.Finally,we propose targeted improvement strategies and methods based on the problems and key influencing factors in cultivation,consciously convert the problems into new impetus for development,adhere to the bottom line of quality,improve quality standards,and promote the sustainable and healthy development of agricultural master’s degree education in China,so as to effectively promote the construction of new agricultural science and high-quality development of graduate education.Through this study,the following conclusions are drawn.Firstly,the construction of new agricultural science emphasizes the deep cross-fertilization between agricultural disciplines and other disciplines,and cultivates composite applied agricultural talents who meet the future development needs of agricultural and rural farmers.Based on the construction of the new agricultural science,this topic puts forward new requirements for the cultivation of agricultural masters: agricultural masters should have solid professional foundation and cross-field knowledge structure,strong comprehensive practical ability and innovation development ability,as well as good professional quality and deep "three agricultural" feelings.Secondly,this topic constructs the evaluation system of the cultivation quality of agricultural master students through factor analysis,and divides the cultivation quality of graduate students into knowledge growth,comprehensive practical ability improvement and ideological and moral quality progress,and the mean value of self-reported score of agricultural master students’ cultivation quality is 3.63,which is between qualified and good;the overall scores of the three parts are as follows: ideological and moral quality progress > comprehensive practical ability improvement >knowledge Growth.The one-way ANOVA concluded that there was no significant difference in the quality of training of agricultural masters between the specialties.Third,descriptive statistics revealed that the overall scores of satisfactions with the cultivation process were as follows: tutor guidance > course teaching > ideological education > equipment security > management service > practical training.Through OLS regression model,it was found that individual characteristics such as gender and off-campus supervisor,as well as the satisfaction of cultivation process such as tutor guidance,equipment security,curriculum teaching,practical training,management service,and political education all positively affected the cultivation quality of agricultural postgraduates,and the scientificity of the results was further verified by robustness test.Finally,through structural equation modeling and Bootstrap test,we found that the three student participation variables of professional identification,learning engagement,and practice participation,while significantly and positively influencing the cultivation quality of agricultural postgraduates,also had significant parallel mediating effects between satisfaction with the training environment and training quality.And learning engagement and practice participation also had significant chain mediating effects between the training environment and training quality through professional identification.It also further verifies the scientific and applicability of Astin’s I-E-O model in the cultivation of agricultural postgraduates.
