Abstract/Summary:
Pinus massoniana Lamb.is a coniferous tree species widely cultivated in southern China, providing energy, economic and ecological support. It is of great significance to study the growth and genetic variation of full-sib families and half-sib families of Pinus massoniana under different environmental conditions, and to explore the genotypeenvironment interaction effect and environmental driving factors on this basis, which is of great significance to the breeding, breeding design and rational distribution of P.massoniana.In this study,43 full-sib families of P.massoniana planted in three test sites(Paiyangshan,Qintang and Fuluo)and 22 half-sib families of P.massoniana planted in three test sites(Gaofeng,Bainan and Lalang)were used as experimental materials.Based on the data of growth traits(DBH,tree height and individual volume)of genetic determination forest, the genetic parameters were estimated, and the genotype-environment interaction patterns between test sites were analyzed.By estimating the best linear unbiased prediction(BLUP)value of growth traits of each family at each test site, and combining with factor analysis, the excellent families of each test site were screened. The productivity, adaptability and stability of growth traits were explored based on the biplot of genotype main effect plus genotype by environment interaction(GGE)based on BLUP value. At the same time, the effects of environmental factors such as climate and soil on the spatial variation of growth traits of P.massoniana were quantified. The main results are as follows:(1)The growth status of 4-year-old full-sib families of P.massoniana in Paiyangshan test site was better than that in Qintang and Fuluo test sites. The growth status of P.massoniana half-sib families at two forest ages(8.7 years old and 12.7 years old)showed that the peak test point had DBH advantage, and the wave test point had tree height advantage. In a single test site, the growth traits(DBH,tree height and individual volume)of full-sib and half-sib families of P.massoniana were significantly different among families, which had the basis for family selection.Multi-point joint analysis of variance showed that genotype, environment and genotype-environment interaction affected the growth of P.massoniana.(2)The performance of heritability in each trait was different in each test site. The family heritability of growth traits of full-sib families in a single test site ranged from 0.72 to 0.87,which was controlled by high-intensity genetic control. The family heritability of growth traits of half-sib families ranged from 0.03 to 0.45(8.7 years old)and 0.14 to 0.51(12.7 years old)in a single test site, which was generally controlled by moderate inheritance except for tree height traits.Compared with the single test site,in the cross-site heritability, the family heritability of the growth traits of the full-sib families of P.massoniana decreased;the heritability of DBH and individual volume of half-sib families decreased, while the heritability of tree height increased, indicating that the heritability of half-sib families across locations was different among different traits. There were genotype-environment interaction effects on growth traits, and the interaction patterns included B and D patterns. The performance of genotype-environment interaction was different among different test sites and different traits, and the interaction was complex.(3)The excellent full-sib families of P.massoniana in each test site were screened.Compared with the selected population, the average actual gain of the individual volume of the excellent family was 27.12 %,and the average genetic gain was 21.17 %.The gain effect was obvious and could be used as a potential material for high-generation breeding of P.massoniana.Since the correlation coefficients between individual volume and DBH and tree height reached 0.96 and 0.90,the growth traits of three experimental sites,Paiyangshan,Qintang and Fuluo, were indirectly evaluated and selected by individual volume.BLUPGGE biplot analysis showed that families 10 and 19 had high productivity, adaptability and stability, and may be suitable for growing in a wide range of environments.(4)The excellent half-sib families of P.massoniana were screened at each test site.At12.7 years old,the average realistic gain of individual volume of excellent families was19.22 %,and the average genetic gain was 8.19 %.The gain effect was obvious. The correlation coefficients of individual volume with DBH and tree height were 0.96 and 0.72 at 8.7 years old,and 0.96 and 0.61 at 12.7 years old. Therefore, the growth traits of Bainan,Lalang and Gaofeng were indirectly evaluated and selected by DBH and tree height. The results of BLUP-GGE biplot analysis showed that families 1 and 15 had better comprehensive performance in DBH and tree height traits, which may be suitable for planting in a wide range of environments.(5)There were significant differences in climate and soil factors at different sites, and the growth differences of families under different site conditions may be related to their nutrient utilization efficiency and environmental adaptability. In addition to the height traits of P.massoniana half-sib families, the growth traits generally showed an increasing trend from northeast to southwest.Temperature and rainfall significantly affected the growth of P.massoniana.In summary, the full-sib and half-sib families of P.massoniana have different growth and genetic variation rules due to their different genetic basis, and the genetic control intensity is also different. The performance of the same genotype in different locations was significantly different, and the performance of different genotypes in the same location was also different. The performance of heritability is different among different traits.Genotypeenvironment interaction effects are common in growth traits. The interaction patterns include B and D patterns, and the interaction is complex.Temperature and rainfall significantly affected the growth of P.massoniana.
