Catnip(Nepeta cataria L.)contains a variety of nutrients and has high nutritional and medicinal value.It can be made into cold dishes and condiments,which can enhance appetite and has a broad development prospect.Since the young leaves of Catnip are not resistant to storage,it is appropriate to pick them as they are used,and they are suitable for growing on balconies to beautify the environment on the one hand and to meet people’s demand for a small amount of condiments on the other.A large number of previous studies have focused on the standardized cultivation and resistance domestication of Catnip in the field,and the substrate for cultivating Catnip is only used as an auxiliary means of research,while the systematic study of the effects of different composite substrates and the amount of bio-organic fertilizers on Catnip has not been reported.Therefore,this study was conducted to investigate the effects of different composite substrates and the amount of bio-organic fertilizer on the growth condition,biomass and quality of Catnip.Using’Catnip’as the test material,coconut bran,charcoal,perlite,vermiculite and bio-organic fertilizer as substrate materials,and to screen the substrate and the amount of bio-organic fertilizer for Catnip in pots to provide a theoretical basis for.The findings of the study are as follows.(1)Under different composite substrate conditions,the plant height of T2 treatment(grass charcoal:coconut bran=2:1)was 29.35 cm,stem thickness was 3.17 mm,whole plant fresh mass was 10.42 g,and vitamin C content was 0.25 mg·g-1;the strong seedling index increased by 24.36%compared with the control(grass charcoal:perlite:vermiculite=2:1:1);the average affiliation function value was 0.67 and the highest overall evaluation.(2)When the bio-organic fertilizer was applied to the substrate at the set amount for Catnip potting with grass charcoal:coconut bran=2:1 as the cultivation substrate formulation,the above-ground and whole plant dry mass of Catnip under treatment B(with 4%bio-organic fertilizer)was the largest,increasing by 43.59%and 41.86%,respectively,compared to the control.The plant height of Catnip increased by 19.52%,stem thickness increased by 11.94%,and root volume increased by 6.67%under treatment B compared to the control.treatment B had the highest overall evaluation score and ranked first at 0.79.Therefore,the addition of 4%bio-organic fertilizer to the cultivation substrate of grass charcoal coconut bran=2:1 is suitable for cultivation of Catnip.In summary,in the soilless cultivation of Catnip,a substrate ratio of grass charcoal:coconut coir=2:1 and a bio-organic fertilizer dosage of 4%is beneficial to increase yield and improve quality.
