| The shortage of water resources is an important factor restricting the sustainable development of agricultural production in Hebei Province.As an important means to promote the development of modern water-saving agriculture,water-saving irrigation technology can improve the efficiency of agricultural irrigation water use,alleviate the contradiction between water and grain,and promote sustainable agricultural development.However,in reality,farmers’ enthusiasm for adopting water-saving irrigation technology is not high,and the actual adoption rate is relatively low.The phenomenon of flood irrigation is still common.Agricultural technology training,as an important way for farmers to obtain technical information,can provide them with relevant knowledge required for agricultural production,reduce the risk of information asymmetry,and improve their technical awareness level.To this end,various regions in Hebei Province have organized various forms of technical training to promote and popularize water-saving irrigation technology.Therefore,based on the current situation of water-saving irrigation technology adoption,this article takes wheat growers as the research object,analyzes whether technical training can have an impact on farmers’ adoption behavior of water-saving irrigation technology,and explores the mechanism of its action,which is of great significance for promoting water-saving irrigation technology in Hebei Province.This article summarizes the application of agricultural water use and water-saving irrigation technology in Hebei Province.Using micro survey data from 412 wheat growers in Hebei Province,it summarizes the recognition and adoption of water-saving irrigation technology by sample farmers.The propensity score matching method(PSM)was used to analyze the impact of participating in technical training on farmers’ adoption of water-saving irrigation technology.The differences in the impact of different technical training types and methods on farmers’ adoption of water-saving irrigation technology were compared.Furthermore,this article explores the mechanism of the impact of technology awareness level and business scale on the adoption behavior of water-saving irrigation technology by farmers through technical training.Finally,based on the research findings,targeted countermeasures and suggestions are proposed.The main research conclusions of this article are as follows:(1)Farmers who have participated in technical training have a significantly higher probability of adopting watersaving irrigation technology compared to farmers who have not participated in technical training.(2)The impact of different types and methods of technical training on farmers’adoption behavior of water-saving irrigation technology varies.Among them,both public welfare technical training and market-oriented technical training positively affect farmers’adoption of water-saving irrigation technology,but the impact of public welfare technical training is better.Both online and offline technical training have a positive impact on farmers’adoption of water-saving irrigation technology,but the impact of offline technical training methods is better.(3)Technical awareness plays a mediating role in the impact of technical training on farmers’ adoption behavior of water-saving irrigation technologies.Technical training indirectly affects farmers’ adoption behavior of water-saving irrigation technology by improving their cognitive level.(4)The scale of operation plays a moderating role in the impact of technical training on farmers’ adoption behavior of water-saving irrigation technologies.The larger the business scale,the stronger the promoting effect of technical training on farmers’ adoption of water-saving irrigation technology.The innovation points of this article include:(1)Based on two types of technical training:public welfare and market-oriented,and online and offline technical training methods,a comparative analysis was conducted on the differences in the impact of heterogeneous technical training on farmers’ adoption behavior of water-saving irrigation technologies.(2)Incorporate technical training and farmers’ adoption behavior of watersaving irrigation technology into the same analytical framework,use technical cognition as an intermediary variable,and business scale as a moderating variable to explore the mechanism of the impact of technical training on farmers’ adoption behavior of water-saving irrigation technology. |
