The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of adding a compound microbial feed additive(DFM)composed of probiotics such as Lactobacillus casei,Lactobacillus plantarum,Bifidobacterium,Lactobacillus reuteri,Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and Lactobacillus acidophilus to the diet on production performance, digestion and metabolism, serum biochemistry, hormones, immunity, antioxidant activity, rumen fermentation, and rumen microflora in Sanhe cattle.120 high-yield lactating Sanhe cattle with similar physical health, physical condition, and calving date were selected from the pasture, and randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group, with 60 cows in each group. The control group was fed TMR,and the experimental group was fed TMR+DFM,with a DFM addition of 20 g/head per day.The trial period was 60 days, including 15 days of pre feeding,45 days of trial, and the last 5 days of sampling. At the end of the experiment,10 cows were selected from each of the control group and the experimental group to collect milk samples, fecal samples, blood samples, and rumen fluid samples, and their milk production, milk composition, serum biochemistry, hormones, antioxidant, immune, and rumen fermentation indicators were measured. The experimental results are as follows:(1)Adding DFM to the diet could increase the milk yield of Sanhe cattle by 16.7%,with a trend of improvement. The number of somatic cells in milk of Sanhe cattle in the experimental group decreased by 38.8%,with a downward trend; The apparent digestibility of neutral detergent fibers in the body of dairy cows was significantly improved(P<0.05).(2)Adding DFM to the diet significantly increased the serum globulin concentration(P<0.05);The concentration of LEP in serum of Sanhe cattle decreased significantly(P<0.05);At the same time, the COR concentration in the experimental group was significantly increased(P<0.01).(3)The addition of DFM to the diet significantly increased the level of microbial protein in the rumen fluid of Sanhe cattle(P<0.05),but did not affect the diversity and richness of the rumen microbiota in Sanhe cattle(P>0.05).(4)The addition of DFM in the diet significantly increased the abundance of Alistipes(P<0.05),while the abundance of Eisenbergiella decreased significantly(P<0.05),indicating that the addition of composite microbial feed additives has a positive effect on intestinal health. In summary, adding composite microbial feed additives to the diet may improve the digestive and metabolic capacity of dairy cows, promote intestinal health and rumen microbiota balance, and thus improve their production performance.
