In the context of rural revitalization, the development trend of my country’s forage industry is good, especially in Ar Horqin Banner, which is located in Chifeng City,Inner Mongolia and is known as the "Grass Capital of China".Up to now,it has been approved as a national standardization demonstration area for alfalfa planting, and has passed the inspection and acceptance. It has built a million-mu high-quality forage tourism scenic spot in the core area of grass industry,"China Grass Capital"."Growing grass to increase income" has become one of the main economic supports for the local area.In recent years, with the rise in prices of manpower and commodity prices, more and more alfalfa farmers are thinking about how to "reduce costs and increase profits".Therefore, analyzing the cost, benefit and influencing factors of alfalfa planting in Ar Horqin Banner plays an important role in increasing the income of alfalfa farmers and herdsmen, and it is of great significance and value to promote the development of alfalfa economy in this region and the development of high-quality forage in Inner Mongolia and even the whole country.Based on the above background, this thesis is guided by production theory,cost-benefit theory, etc.,based on the perspective of alfalfa growers, and conducts field research on alfalfa planting in Ar Horqin Banner through a survey questionnaire.Conduct a systematic analysis of the cost structure and output value of alfalfa planting:First, the development history of grass industry and the current situation of alfalfa planting in Ar Horqin Banner were comprehensively sorted out.At the macro level, the advantages and disadvantages of high-quality forages such as alfalfa were analyzed.Second, analyze the cost-benefit of alfalfa planting in Ar Horqin Banner, the analysis shows that the total cost per mu of farmers with different planting scales is different. The total cost per mu is 882.78 yuan for large-scale farmers,804.66 yuan for medium-sized farmers, and 569.83 yuan for small-scale farmers. In the total cost per mu of different planting scales, the material cost accounted for the largest proportion of the total cost, but with the increase of the planting scale, the proportion of the material cost per mu will gradually decrease, indicating that there is a scale effect. The yield per mu of alfalfa is positively correlated with the planting scale to a certain extent, and the net profit and cash income per mu of alfalfa planting both exceed 1,000 yuan per mu.Thirdly, according to the cost-benefit analysis of alfalfa, the influencing factors were determined, and the multiple linear regression method was used to analyze the significance of each factor.Six significant influencing factors are obtained, and the order of influence is from large to small: alfalfa product grade > alfalfa yield per mu > number of employed workers > land lease mu number > alfalfa harvesting method > alfalfa planting mu number.Among them, whether the alfalfa harvest period and drying period are affected by rain directly affects the product grade, and fertilizer and water irrigation is an important factor to ensure the per-mu yield of alfalfa.Based on the above research conclusions, the following four policy recommendations are put forward:(1)In terms of the cost of alfalfa planting, land resources should be allocated rationally, labor force should be encouraged to engage in alfalfa planting, and the degree of organization and scale should be improved.(2)In terms of planting income,it is necessary to select high-yielding varieties, research and cultivate local grass species, and extend the forage industry chain.(3)In terms of risk management and control, meteorological information should be provided in a timely and accurate manner, and forage production insurance should be introduced.(4)In terms of policy support,we will increase policy support in terms of planting, scientific research, technology, and talents.
