Abstract/Summary:
Avian E.coli is a local or systemic infectious disease caused by APEC and is one of the major diseases causing serious economic losses to the poultry industry.Antibiotic therapy is a common means of controlling E.coli disease in chickens. However, problems such as bacterial resistance and drug residues caused by improper use of antibiotics have made it inevitable to restrict the use of antibiotics.Mongolia-veterinary Babu-7 is a green and safe mono-veterinary formula with strong anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. However, little research has been conducted on E.coli disease. In this study, the clinical therapeutic effects of the Mongolia veterinary drug BBS,immune factors and immune organs and histopathology of the intestine were investigated in order to provide a theoretical and practical basis for the control of E.coli disease in chickens with the Mongolia veterinary drug BBS.Standard E.coli O78attacked 80 chicks at 15 days to establish a pathological model of chicken E.coli disease.Morbidity, mortality and protection rates were calculated for each group after 7 d of drug treatment. The results showed that the model group had 100%morbidity and 70%mortality;the antibiotic group had 100%morbidity,30%mortality and 70%protection;and the high, medium and low dose groups of the Babu-7 had 100%morbidity,mortality between 40-60%and protection between 60-40%.The results showed that the Mongolia veterinary drug Babu-7 was able to protect the chickens against pathogenic E.coli.After 7 d of modeling treatment, blood was collected from the heart, serum was separated and serum levels of T-SOD,CAT,GSH-Px and MDA were measured by ELISA;serum levels of IL-1β,TNF-α,IL-6,IFN-γand Ig-A were measured by ELISA;spleen, thymus and bursa were collected and weighed for wet weight and organ index was calculated. The results showed that the Mongolia veterinary drug Babu-7significantly increased the levels of T-SOD,CAT and GSH-Px(P<0.05)and significantly decreased the levels of MDA(P<0.05);the Mongolia veterinary drug Babu-7 significantly down-regulated the elevation of inflammatory factors IL-1β,TNF-α,IL-6 and IFN-γcaused by avian pathogenic E.coli infection(P<0.05),significantly up-regulated serum immunoglobulin Ig A due to APEC infection(P<0.05),significantly increased the decrease in thymus and bursal indices due to APEC infection and decreased the increase in spleen indices due to avian pathogenic E.coli infection(P<0.05).The results suggest that the Mongolia-veterinary drug Babu-7 may protect chickens against E.coli infection by increasing the antioxidant power and enhancing the specific immunity of sick chickens.
