Abstract/Summary:
Canine pyoderma is a common disease in clinical diagnosis and treatment.There are many kinds of pathogens of canine pyoderma,the disease is often mixed infection of pathogens,and the treatment cycle is long.At present,the phenomenon of drug resistance of the pathogenic bacteria of the disease is very common,which not only seriously endangers the health of pets,but also poses a serious threat to public health security.The occurrence of canine pyoderma is affected by the geographical environment.The epidemiological and pathogenic characteristics of canine pyoderma are usually different in different regions.Deepening the research on the characteristics and etiology of the disease will help veterinarians to formulate scientific and reasonable prevention and treatment strategies.However,epidemiological data of canine pyoderma are currently lacked in many regions.Zhengzhou is located in Middle and lower reaches of the Huanghe River which has four distinct seasons,and belongs to north temperate continental monsoon climate.Canine pyoderma is easily induced,due to rain and hot in the same period.This study investigated the occurrence characteristics of canine pyoderma in Zhengzhou,at the same time isolated and identified the pathogenic bacteria of canine pyoderma,and carried out experiments on the drug resistance of the pathogens.The research provides scientific theoretical basis for veterinary clinical diagnosis and treatment of canine pyoderma.This paper conducts a statistical analysis of canine skin disease cases in a chain pet hospital in Zhengzhou from December 2020 to December 2021.The results showed that there were 548 canines with skin disease among the 2147 canine cases in the whole year,and the incidence of skin disease in the affected canines accounted for 25.52%(548/2147).There were 248 canine pyoderma cases,accounting for 11.55%(248/2147).Canine pyoderma is common in June,July,August and September.In these four months with high temperature and humidity,pyoderma canine accounted for 52.82% of the total cases.Different breeds of canine have pyoderma.The incidence of pyoderma was high in mongrel canines,golden retrievers and poodles,accounting for 15.32%,11.29% and8.06%,respectively.Males outnumbered females by a ratio of 1.3:1.Canine pyoderma mainly occurs in young canines aged 0-2,accounting for 41.53% of the total cases.This paper collected 74 cases of pyoderma canine skin disease materials from multiple institutions in Zhengzhou.The pathogenic bacteria in the samples were isolated and purified by plate streak method,and the 16 S r RNA gene sequence of the strain was sequenced,and then the bacteria were identified by analysis.In this paper,114 strains of bacteria were isolated,of which Staphylococcus bacteria accounted for 76.32%(87/114),including Staphylococcus pseudointermediate,Staphylococcus aureus,Staphylococcus sciuri,Staphylococcus nepalis,Staphylococcus kohlii,Staphylococcus lentus,Staphylococcus saprophytes.Staphylococcus pseudointermediate accounted for 48.25%(55/114),followed by Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus sciuri,accounting for8.77%(10/114)and 7.02%(8/114),respectively.In addition,this study also isolated Escherichia coli,Acinetobacter calcoaceticus,Klebsiella pneumoniae,Bacillus cereus,Bacillus subtilis,Acinetobacter johnsonii,Pseudomonas fulva,Stenotrophomonas maltophilia,Enterobacter hormaechei.The drug susceptibility test of the isolated strains was carried out by disc diffusion method.Staphylococcus pseudointermedius was sensitive to rifampicin,and the resistance rate was only 3.64%.It was sensitive to cotrimoxazole,gentamicin,enrofloxacin,clindamycin,chloramphenicol and oxacillin,and the resistance rate was between 23.64%and 41.82%.It was resistant to tetracycline,erythromycin and penicillin,and the resistance rate was between 52.73% and 85.45%.Staphylococcus aureus was sensitive to cotrimoxazole,gentamicin,enrofloxacin,clindamycin,rifampicin,chloramphenicol and cefoxitin,and the resistance rate was between 10.00% and 40.00%.It is resistant to tetracycline,erythromycin and penicillin,and the resistance rate is between 60.00% and90.00%.Staphylococcus sciuri were sensitive to cotrimoxazole,gentamicin,enrofloxacin,rifampicin,chloramphenicol and cefoxitin,and the resistance rates were all below 37.50%.It was resistant to tetracycline,erythromycin,penicillin and clindamycin,and the resistance rate was between 62.50% and 75.00%.In addition,the other isolated Staphylococcus,Escherichia coli,Acinetobacter calcoaceticus,Klebsiella pneumoniae,Acinetobacter johnsonii,Stenotrophomonas maltophilia,and Enterobacter hormaechei were resistant for the selected antibacterial drugs.To sum up,this paper investigates the occurrence characteristics of canine pyoderma in Zhengzhou,isolates and identifies the pathogenic bacteria of canine pyoderma,and studies the drug resistance of the pathogenic bacteria.The occurrence of canine pyoderma is affected by geographical location and climatic conditions,and has a high correlation with canine breed,sex and age;The main pathogenic bacteria of canine pyoderma are Staphylococcus pseudointermedius,which are resistant to commonly used clinical antibiotics.This study can provide a scientific theoretical basis for veterinary clinical diagnosis and treatment of canine pyoderma.
