Analysis On Influencing Factors Of Slow-Rclcase Fertilizer Technology Adopted Bv Farmers In Henan Province

As one of the most important production factors in agricultural production and management activities,chemical fertilizer plays an important role in increasing crop yield and agricultural operational income.However,with the continuous increase of fertilizer application,not only the agricultural production cost is greatly increased,but also a series of adverse consequences such as the decline of soil fertility and the deterioration of agricultural ecological environment.Henan is located in the central plain of China,with the cultivated land area ranking second in the country,one of the major grain producing areas in China,and the fertilization intensity ranks first in the country,which seriously hinders the development of agricultural modernization in this province depending on the agricultural management mode of excessive fertilization.As the micro-decision-makers of farmers’ behavior of choosing and applying fertilizers,how to guide them to change their ideas of choosing and applying fertilizers is of great significance to the improvement of fertilizer utilization efficiency,the reduction of agricultural production costs and the improvement of agricultural ecological environment.As a new agricultural production technology,slow-release fertilizer has the advantages of long-term release period and no topdressing than ordinary chemical fertilizers;on the basis of reducing the amount of nitrogen fertilizer application by 15% to 20%,it can also maintain crop yield without reducing or even increasing production.The promotion and popularization of slow-release fertilizer technology can not only greatly improve the utilization rate of fertilizer,but also reduce the cost of agricultural production.As early as the end of the 1960 s,China has begun to develop slow-release fertilizers,and then continue to increase research and development efforts,has made great progress,fertilizer products have reached the quality standards and levels of similar products abroad,but its promotion and penetration rate has not been high.In order to promote slow-release fertilizer technology on a larger scale and at a higher level,we must first find out what factors restrict farmers’ adoption of slow-release fertilizer technology.Based on this,based on micro-survey data,guided by basic theories such as farmer behavior theory,planned behavior theory,path dependence theory,and cost-benefit theory,and on the basis of the hypothesis of finite rational economic people,the basic characteristic variables and core variables of farmers are used to explore the factors influencing the adoption of slow-release fertilizer technology by farmers in Henan Province from the two aspects of basic characteristic variables and core variables of farmers.After systematic analysis,this paper draws the following conclusions: the basic characteristic variables of farmers,such as gender,years of education,the number of agricultural laborers,the proportion of family agricultural income,the area planted with corn,the number of plots,and whether they participate in agricultural economic cooperatives,have a significant positive impact on the adoption of slow-release fertilizer technology by farmers;in terms of core variables,social impact and performance expectations have a significant positive impact on farmers’ behavior of adopting slow-release fertilizer technology,risk attitudes,behavior habits,There was a significant negative impact of the obstruction conditions on the adoption behavior of farmers’ slow-release fertilizers.The basic characteristic variables and core variables of farmers have had different degrees of important influence on the fertilizer selection decision of farmers whether to use slow-release fertilizer technology.However,since the basic characteristics of farmers are not easy to change,in the specific promotion process of slow-release fertilizer technology,we should pay attention to the impact of core variables on the adoption of slow-release fertilizer technology by farmers.Based on the systematic research on the theoretical and empirical aspects of farmers’ fertilizer selection decision-making and its influencing factors,we put forward the following countermeasures: strengthen the technological innovation and research and development of slow-release fertilizer;improve the level of farmers’ awareness of slow-release fertilizer technology;adjust the subsidy policy of farmers;promote the moderate scale operation of agricultural production;and improve the degree of marketization of slow-release fertilizer technology promotion services.
