| China is the second largest producer and consumer of broilers in the world.Veterinary antibiotics are used to prevent and treat broiler diseases and play an important role in promoting the development of broiler industry and ensuring the effective supply of broiler products.For a long time,the problem of antibiotics resistance of animal-derived bacteria caused by irrational use of antibiotics in broiler breeding has become increasingly prominent,which seriously threatens the quality and public health safety of livestock and poultry products.The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs formulated the National Action Plan for Reducing the Use of Veterinary Antibiotics(2021-2025),encouraging all localities to refine their experience in reducing veterinary antibiotics in the breeding of different livestock and poultry breeds,and requiring more than 50% of large-scale farms to reduce veterinary antibiotics in breeding by the end of 2025.The government of Henan province responded positively,making plans and carrying out reduction actions.To explore a reduction model suitable for the development of the broiler industry in Henan Province to reduce the use of veterinary antibiotics sustainably while ensuring the healthy growth of broilers.The study investigated the current situation of the use of veterinary antibiotics in large-scale broiler farms,analyzed the specific problems existing in the reduction process of the use of veterinary antibiotics in large-scale broiler farms,and put forward countermeasures according to the problems,in order to provide reference for the formation of the reduction mode of the use of veterinary antibiotics in large-scale broiler farms in Henan Province.According to the layout of broiler industry in Henan Province,167 large-scale broiler farms in 8 prefecture level cities were selected as the survey object.By means of questionnaire and field interview,the survey was carried out in five aspects: the management of veterinary antibiotics in broiler farms,the cognition of substitute products of veterinary antibiotics,feeding management,biosafety management and the supervision of veterinary antibiotics.It was found that there were some problems in large-scale broiler farms in Henan Province,such as imperfect veterinary drug procurement system,unscientific disease diagnosis methods,lax control of veterinary drug dosage,incomplete veterinary drug management records,weak willingness to use substitute products for veterinary antibiotics,inadequate implementation of biosafety prevention and control measures,low feeding management level and weak supervision of veterinary antibiotics use.Based on the problems existing in the use of veterinary antibiotics in large-scale broiler farms in Henan Province,combined with the reduction policy of veterinary antibiotics,countermeasures are proposed to improve the reduction level of the use of veterinary antibiotics for large-scale broiler farms in Henan Province: improving the management mechanism of veterinary antibiotics use in broiler farms,Strengthen the research,development and promotion of alternative products of veterinary antibiotics,improve the feeding and management efficiency of broiler farms,strengthen the biosafety prevention and control system of broiler farms,and strengthen the legal construction of veterinary antibiotics use and management. |
