| Rubiaceae(juss)plants are widely distributed all over the world with many kinds of plants and high economic value.Gardenia Ellis is a large genus of Rubiaceae.Gardenia jasminoides Ellis is a plant of Gardenia Ellis,nom.cons.Most species of Gardenia have strong shade tolerance and high omamental.They have the potential to be developed as potted flowers and vertical greening plants;In order to compare and study the adaptability of three Gardenia jasminoide plants to different weak light,Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.ovalifolia Nakai、Gardenia jasminoides Ellis varfortuniana(Lindley)H.Hara and Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.radicans Mak.’Variegata’ were selected as materials,and six different weak light intensities were set in artificial climate box(pot planting),According to the good growth of Gardenia jasminoides plants under the forest,the maximum light intensity under the forest in summer is 200μmol·m-2·s-1 measured by the photometer。Taking 200μmol·m-2·s-1 as the CK group,five treatment groups of treatment groups A、B、C、D and E are set.The light intensity is divided into 100、40、2、10 and 2μmol·m-2·s-1;The indexes are measured every 10 days as a cycle.The physiological indexes such as growth morphology,chlorophyll,carotenoid and MDA of the three treatment groups under different weak light intensity are measured at 5 days,15 days,25 days,35 days and 45 days,so as to provide a scientific basis for their application in indoor gardens and vertical greening plants.The experimental results show that:(1)Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.ovalifolia Nakai and Gardenia jasminoides Ellis varfortuniana(Lindley)H.Hara can survive in the light environment of 2 to 200μmol·m-2·s-1,Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.radicans Mak.’Variegata’ can survive in the light environment of 10 to 200μmol·m-2·s-1,and can survive for up to 35 days in the light environment of less than 10μmol·m-2·-1。(2)The growth range of leaf color,leaf size and plant height of the three Gardenia jasminoides Ellis plants showed different degrees of changes;Except that the plant height,leaf color and leaves of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.ovalifolia Nakai in treatment group E did not change,the plants in each treatment group continued to grow with the increase of weak light stress time,the plant leaf color did not change,and the leaves became larger,among which the leaves of CK group were the largest;Under different low light intensity,with the increase of low light stress time,the plants in each treatment group of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.fortuniana(Lindley)H.Hara plant continued to grow,and the plant leaves in treatment group a became larger,and the plant leaves in treatment group A were the largest。As for the change of plant leaf color,except that treatment group A and CK became deeper,the other treatment groups did not change;Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.radicans Mak.’Variegata’ died after obvious yellowing in treatment groups D and E.With the increase of weak light stress time,the plants increased,the leaf color did not change,and the leaves became larger in each treatment group。(3)The trend of physiological indexes of three Gardenia jasminoides Ellis plants under different low light stress changed significantly with the increase of stress time;Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.ovalifolia Nakai of chlorophyll in CK group and treatment group A and C increased,and the total amount of chlorophyll in treatment group B,D and E increased first and then decreased;In each treatment group of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis varfortun iana(Lindley)H.Hara and Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.radicans Mak.’Variegata’ of chlorophyll increased first and then decreased;Chlorophyll a/b of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.ovalifolia Nakai in each treatment group showed a double peak curve trend of first decreasing and then increasing;Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.fortuniana(Lindley)H.Hara and Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.radicans Mak.’Variegata’ treatment group A and CK group showed a gradually decreasing trend,while treatment group B,C,D and E showed a first decreasing and then increasing trend;The contents of group A,B,C and CK group carotene contents increased significantly,and the contents of D and E in treatment group increased first and then decreased;The SOD activity of three Gardenia species inereased continuously;The free proline content of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.ovalifolia Nakai and Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.fortuniana(Lindley)H.Hara decreased first and then increased in each treatment group,the content of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.radicans Mak.’Variegata’ increased first and then decreased or continued to decrease;The relative water content of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.ovalifolia Nakai and Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.fortuniana(Lindley)H.Hara decreased continuously,and the relative water content of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.radicans Mak.’Variegata’ increased first and then decreased;The MDA content of three Gardenia jasminoides plants increased first and then decreased;The contents of soluble sugar and soluble protein osmotic substances in Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.ovalifolia Nakai and Gardenia jasminoides Ellis varfortuniana(Lindley)H.Hara increased first and then decreased,while Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.radicans Mak.’Variegata’ decreased continuously;The relative conductivity content of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.ovalifolia Nakai first increased and then decreased,and that of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.fortuniana(Lindley)H.Hara and Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.radicans Mak.’Variegata’ first decreased and then increased。(4)The membership function analysis method was used to show that the shade varfortuniana(Lindley)H.Hara can be used for a long time in potted plants or promoted as indoor garden plants and wall greening plants。Gardenia jasminoides Ellis var.radicans Mak.’Variegata’ can not survive for a long time under weak light conditions less than 10μmol·m-2·s-1。It can only be used for potted plants to be planted in sunny places such as balconies;The three Gardenia jasminoides Ellis
