Through in vitro digestion test, feeding test, digestion and metabolism test and slaughtering test, this study carried out in vitro digestibility, growth performance, nitrogen metabolism, rumen fermentation parameters, immune antioxidant function, blood biochemical indexes, the impact of slaughter performance, meat quality and economic benefits is aimed at developing and utilizing reed and alleviating the shortage of feed raw materials.Thirty-two Ningxia Tan sheep rams with good body condition, health and disease-free and similar body weight were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups(control group, trial group Ⅰ,trial group Ⅱ,and trial group Ⅲ),8 in each group,in the whole house.test under feeding conditions. The four groups of sheep are feed with granulated TMR containing 0%,7%,14%,and 21%of reed on a daily basis(the proportion of wolfberry residue in each group was 5%).The pre-trial period is 15 days, and the positive trial period is 85 days. The whole experiment is divide into three feeding stages:early, middle and late stages. The ratios of concentrate to roughage are 40:60,45:55,and 50:50,respectively.There is a transition period of 5 days in the middle and late stages. The results showed that:1)The addition of reed affect the degradation level of carbohydrates by rumen microorganisms in vitro experiments, and is not conducive to the production of volatile fatty acids. The IVDMD is the highest when the addition amount is 7%,and the NH3-N content of each group is within the normal range.2)With the increase of the proportion of reed, nitrogen deposition and utilization of Tan sheep shows a decreasing trend, and the total nitrogen excretion is the lowest when the addition amount is 7%.The addition of 14%and 21%significantly reduced the apparent digestibility of ADF in Tan sheep(P<0.05).The pH value and NH3-N content of each test group are in the normal range, which indicated that the addition of reed had no obvious effect on the rumen environment of Tan sheep.3)The addition of 7%reed improve the liver function of Tan sheep(P<0.01)and the activity of antioxidant enzymes(P>0.05);the addition of 14%reed reduced the immunity of Tan sheep(P<0.01);the addition of 21%reed reduce the antioxidant function and protein metabolism efficiency of Tan sheep(P<0.05),and improve the lipid metabolism efficiency(P<0.05).4)The addition of reed reduces the growth performance and economic benefits of Tan sheep. However, the daily weight gain and net profit of Tan sheep in the experimental group are still at a relatively high level, which are 210.54~224.80 g/d and 3.91~4.32 yuan/head/day,respectively.5)The addition of reed reduce the slaughter performance, tail fat deposition, muscle cook meat rate and water retention capacity of Tan sheep, but has no adverse effect on the organ development and mutton nutrition of Tan sheep. The crude fat content of mutton is the highest when the addition amount is 7%(P>0.05);the meat color is improve when the addition amount is 14%(P<0.05).To sum up,under the conditions of this experiment, with the increase of the proportion of reed, the growth performance, slaughter performance, meat quality, nitrogen metabolism, immune antioxidant function and economic benefit of Tan sheep gradually decrease.Considering that the net profit and daily gain of Tan sheep are at a relatively high level, reed can be used instead in the case of shortage of some corn stalks, and it is better to add no more than 7%of reed. |
