Studies On Artificial Breeding Technology Of Cherax Quadricarinatus

Cherax quadricarinatus,native to Australia,is one of the freshwater crayfish with high economic value in the world.Cherax quadricarinatus has been introduced into China for more than 20 years,but its culturing development was slow.Low level of large-scale seedling breeding is one of the main reasons.Aiming at some problems in seedling production of Cherax quadricarinatus,studies on artificial breeding technology were conducted.In low temperature season,different diets were used to rear the parental crayfish and larvae under different water temperatures in indoor conditions.The effects of diet and temperature on cry fish spawning and larvae growth were analyzed,which could provide reference for indoor artificial breeding of the crayfish.The main results were as follows:1.Selectivity of adult crayfish to different diets:adult crayfish was fed with three kinds of diets.The results showed that the crayfish had selectivity to different diets,and had higher selectivity to shrimp formula feed No.A3(Xiamen Jiakang Feed Co.Ltd.).When plant diet(corn,carrot)and fish meat were fed,the feeding selectivity to fish meat was the highest.The feeding selectivity of different size baits were observed,and the results showed that 2.5mm×2.5mm×1mm bait particle size was the most suitable for adult crayfish.2.Adding different kinds of animal and plant baits(30%corn,30%carrot,30%fish)to the diet had certain influence on the spawn effect of parental crayfish.The spawning rate of parental crayfish fed with diets adding corn or fish meat were lower than that of crayfish fed only with formula feed,while the spawning rate of parental crayfish fed with diets adding carrot was the same as that of crayfish fed only with formula feed.Compared with the pure formula feed group,the incubation time was shortened by adding animal or plant baits.Therefore,adding 30%carrot to the feed can shorten the incubation time without affecting the spawning rate.3.Study on the effects of different temperatures(uncontral temperature,21℃,24℃,27℃)on spawning of the crayfish in winter showed that the suitable water temperature for indoor spawning of the crayfish in winter was 24℃.4.Adding different kinds of animal and plant baits(30%corn,30%carrot,30%fish)to the feed had certain effects on the growth and survival of larvae.The results showed that the growth rate and survival rate of larvae of Cherax quadricarinatus could be improved by adding appropriate animal bait(30%fish)at the early stage of culture.5.To study the effects of different temperatures(21℃,24℃,27℃)on the growth and survival of larvae,the results showed that the growth rate of larvae was the fastest at 30℃.In addition,the growth ability of larvae differs greatly from individual to individual.In order to reduce the mortality rate,shrimp seedlings with different size should be cultured in different tanks in time.
