Abstract/Summary:
Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge,an endemic woody oil tree in China,has great development potential for medicine,food,biomass energy and landscaping.However,the uneven emergence of Xanthoceras sorbifolia seedlings greatly affects the quality of seedling cultivation and production efficiency.To explore its influencing factors and mechanism is the basis to solve the technical problems of Xanthoceras sorbifolia seedling cultivation.In this paper,the contents of nutrients and gibberellin in Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge seeds during the process of different time germination were analyzed.The physiological mechanism of affecting the seed germination and the causes of different time germination was revealed,which provided a theoretical basis of improving the cultivation technology of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge seedlings.The main results are as follows:(1)The germination of the seeds of Xanthoceras sorbifolia is irregular.The same batch of seeds sown after soaking in warm water last for more than 135 days.The germination rate is higher in the early and middle stages of germination and lower in the later stage.The overall germination rate is 42.98%,and the germination potential is 32.79%,the germination index was 142.42,and the germination regularity index was0.14.(2)The nutrient consumption of the seed germination of Xanthoceras sorbifolia mainly comes from the activation of the stored nutrients in the cotyledons.The activated soluble protein is decomposed into a large number of amino acids for the physiological and biochemical reactions of germination;the soluble sugars after starch hydrolysis provide the energy needed for germination;although the Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge seed contains more fat,the fat has no obvious effect in the early stage of germination.In the later stage of seed germination,it provides a metabolic basis of seedling growth.(3)Gibberellin plays an important role in Seed Germination of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge.During the germination of Xanthoceras sorbifolia seeds,the content of gibberellin increased with the increase of the number of seed germination,and the content of gibberellin before and after germination was significantly different,and the content of gibberellin in the small cotyledon was higher than that in the large cotyledon,which also confirmed that the regulation of germination of Xanthoceras sorbifolia seeds mainly lies in the activation and regulation of substances in the small cotyledon.
