With the development of social economy,the production of solid organic waste,especially manure and slurry from livestock and poultry,has been increasing,which had caused great pressure on the environment.The practice has showed that aerobic composting is one of the effective methods for the treatment of solid organic waste,which has the advantages of safety,high efficiency and environmental protection,and has been widely promoted.In the process of lane compost,Drum turner used for turning and throwing is good at crushing,mixing and turning.The basic research on drum turner abroad is advanced,but there are few theoretical researches on drum turner in China so that the design methods of turners are somewhat arbitrary without theoretical support.In this work,the theoretical research on drum turner is carried out and a type of drum turner for testing is designed and built for it’s experimental research,which are valuable practically and theoretically in terms of drum turners’ manufacturing in the future.The process of lane compost with drum turner was analyzed.The kinematic and dynamic analysis of drum turner blades and particles of compost during work are conducted.The effect of various factors on power consumption of drum turner is analyzed and clarified.The basic requirement for the normal production of drum turner are inferred,which including ratio of velocity of turning,height of the composting material after turning,moving distance of composting material after turning and thickness of composting material cut by blades.Based on the existing research conditions,a GF12 drum turner for testing was designed.The functional analysis,program analysis and design,structural design and calculation,engineering drawing and other design tasks of GF12 drum turner for testing are finished.The device of GF12 drum turner for testing with three components of turning,lifting and walking is producted.Experimental research was carried out based on the device of GF12 drum turner for testing,during which the effect of drum rotation rate on the height of the composting material after turning was identified,and the key coefficient of the theoretical formula was found,and the characteristics of the effect of turning depth,driving speed and drum rotation rate on power consumption were obtained.
