| The changes in the built environment brought about by urbanization have posed a series of health challenges to residents, and health issues have become one of the key issues of concern for multiple disciplines.Urban planning and design can improve the built environment, thereby promoting public health. This study attempts to take Nanchong City as an example to explore the impact of built environments around residential areas with different levels of development on residents’ health. The main content of this article is:The first chapter provides an overview of the background, purpose, and main content of this study, explains the research methods, clarifies the research significance, and presents the research framework. The second chapter summarizes the research status and development trends of this topic at home and abroad through the review of relevant literature at home and abroad, and selects four major categories of built environment impact factors based on this, namely: land use, road traffic, infrastructure and environmental quality,to clarify the impact of various factors on residents’ health in previous studies.Chapter 3 selects 18 old residential areas in Nanchong City and divides them into three categories based on their surrounding development level.Through on-site research, resident questionnaire surveys, and electronic map data, the required built environment indicators and resident health information are obtained.Chapter 4 conducted statistical analysis on the results of the residents’ questionnaire survey, and then used SPSS software to analyze the correlation between various health conditions and built up environmental indicators of residents in different types of residential areas;Furthermore, linear regression analysis was used to study the impact of various built up environmental indicators in residential areas on residents’ various health conditions; We also established a structural equation model to analyze the impact of environmental factors on residents’ health. In chapter 5,based on the analysis results, combined with the current situation of various residential areas, this paper proposes optimization strategies for the built environment in terms of land use, road traffic, infrastructure and environmental quality of various residential areas.Chapter 6 summarizes the main conclusions of this study, points out its innovation and limitations, and finally proposes prospects for future related research. This study found that:(1)the four factors surrounding the built up environment of residential areas with different levels of development will have a significant impact on residents’ health;(2)The impact of different built environmental factors around the community on residents’ health varies, and specific environmental factors need to be analyzed;(3)The built environmental factors around residential areas with different levels of development have varying degrees of impact on residents’ health. |
